What is up with my little girl?

I want to see if any of you have any been there/done that advice.

One of my girls (a hearty eater) has been eating minimal amounts for the past 2 days, usually stopping because her stomach hurts. The past 2 nights she has been waking up crying and crying. Last night it was several times, tonight it's only been once so far. She woke up totally chipper and happy this morning as if nothing was wrong.

When she woke up last night and again tonight I checked for:
    Fever: none.
    No aches and pains.
    Not feeling sick.
    Nothing. Just crying.

Have any of your littles been through anything similar? Any advice?

Is she constipated? She may only be slowing down enough at night to notice the pain

    No. :(
I knew there was one more thing I wanted to mention...normal bathroom habits.

Michelle, when the stomach bug hit our house in March, that's how it affected Nolan. He got stomach pain and nothing else. It hit the other two harder. Other than that, no helpful advice to give.

Is her her tummy .. or her intestines ?
Jayden suffers from acid reflux and it makes his stomach hurt .. like right under his ribs.
That could be worth looking into.

I hope she feels better Michelle .. it's no fun being woken up in pain. :(

I would monitor it because this is how the stomach virus that hit Ana two weeks ago started. Not to freak you out, but puking and fevers followed the minimal eating (not normal for her), and waking up crying because of stomach pain. I hope she feels better soon.

Thanks for the input ladies. :good: I was panicked because we had an 11 hour roadtrip ahead of us and then 3 nights in a hotel but it turned out to be nothing. :pardon:

I remembered while we were away this weekend that I read something way back when that said toddlers sometimes have a decrease in appetite when going through a growth spurt. I'm guessing maybe this is what is going on. She has eaten less than she normally does this past week (but still eating) and isn't complaining about stomach pains and has stopped waking up. I have started giving her smaller portions to see if it satisfies her and it does. So...maybe that's all that it was/is. Where's that darn manual!!

Minimal appetite during growth spurts? Mine are the complete opposite! I always say they are like a bear getting ready to hibernate. They eat and eat and eat then sleep really good during growth spurts!
Glad it was nothing, I was going to suggest the reflux thing too...most likely hits at night when they lie down!! Have fun on your trip!

Mine usually eat a ton for a few days to a week then spend a week being tired and cranky with very little appetite. Then BAM they are two inches taller and none of their pants fit. Hopefully that's all it was and she's all better now!

I know, right? Doesn't make sense. But, looking back on it the other day, this is how they have always been. Their appetite decreases, they start sleeping more but it's disturbed, and THEN their appetite increases for a while and they start sleeping more, and much more soundly.
