I made up a lunch menu that really helped knowing each day what the twins were having for lunch and I didn't have to scrounge around trying to find something with 2 screaming impatient children hanging on my leg. It has worked now for 5 months but I need to change it up a bit.

What are your twins eating for lunch? By the way, my twins are 16 mos old now.

I'm just visiting here from the first year forum, but someone just recommended these two sites to me: www.weelicious.com (also on Facebook under weelicious, where she posts a daily photo of her childrens' lunch) and www.lunchinabox.net. Hope these help!

At that age, mine were eating things like:

    lunch meat
cut up pieces of left of dinner meat (grilled chicken)
    meatballs
pasta (with butter and cheese or sauce)
    ravioli
    hardboiled eggs or scrambled eggs
    gerber graduates meals
    PB and J
left over bits from previous dinner

I added a fruit and veggie usually to each meal as well.

I would like to give them grilled chicken or pork chop but they won't eat it. They do like ground beef. I think cause it's softer. I will try meat from a drum stick as that is softer.

I never thought of giving them hardboiled eggs. Will have to try that.

I bought some mini bow tie pasta and some little rigatoni pasta for different kinds of shapes when they get pasta for lunch. I make up a batch of my homemade spaghetti sauce and they get pasta and sauce once a week.

As for meatballs, I have a recipe for "Porcupines", meatballs with rice, that I am going to try tomorrow. I am going to try and sneak in spinach and see if that works.

I am going to make Lemon Zucchini bread with lemon glaze but make muffins instead. My twins LOVE muffins!! So does my oldest. Great way to sneak in veggies!!

I bought bologna for the first time tonight. I hope they like that. I would like to find a nitrate/nitrite free bologna to give my kids. If anyone knows of any, let me know!

Teamturner: Thanks for the links!! I will have to check them out!

Lunch in our house at 16 months consisted of those (usually cut into tiny pieces)
    Steamed carrots or other veggies
    waffles
    scrambled eggs
    peanut butter and jelly
    grilled cheese
cheesy bread (toasted bread with cheese on top)
pasta (at time without tomato sauce because tomato sauce would always give DD a rash), so it was coated with butter and cheese
    cereal
    fruit
    yogurt
    cereal bars
leftovers from dinner (chicken, turkey, tomato sauce free meatballs, pork, beef, etc.)

    Good luck!

My guys ate a lot of leftovers from dinner for lunch (and still do). My nanny is with them during the week, so we leave her leftovers or a choice of easily prepared foods:

    Chicken tenderloins
    Fish sticks
    Bologna
    Meatballs
Chicken noodle soup (with the meat, noodles and veggies strained out)
    Rotisserie chicken
Hot dogs (Costco has some good nitrate-free, all natural ones)
    PB&J
Home made pizzas (on English muffins, cut into small pieces)

We always have rice, noodles, bread, sweet potato fries and crackers for sides, assorted fresh/frozen veggies, fresh/canned fruit, yogurt, and the all-important cookie for dessert. :)

    we are very boring!

we do almond butter sandwiches (1 time I tried peanut butter and I think they got a rash, but then the 2nd time I tried it they didn't like the taste...), a veggie - broccoli, cauliflower, carrots etc. and sometimes pasta noodles with parmesean cheese sprinkled on... good luck!

(yes I think tomato sauce cause rashes on our kids too)

They have that fresh pasta which is ravioli - I get one with roasted veggies and meat -- cook it up and just have a bit of butter on it or olive oil. Cut up half cherry tomatoes & cheese.

Cheese sandwiches, cream cheese & jelly sandwiches, jelly

thin small crackers and put cream cheese or spread in the middle.

puddings, rice cakes with cream cheese inside.

    rice pudding

sometimes this is when I choose a canned spagetti -- saves me time.

ice cream cone with cream cheese and jelly inside

We do a lot of what other's suggested. Scrambled eggs and bologna, grilled cheese, pb&j, mac and cheese and fish sticks. I recently tried some shredded lunch meat (turkey and chicken) that was thin sliced already, they loved it, so we use that as a "meat" sometimes when i don't have leftovers. Spaghetti and meatballs, chicken and rice, shepherds pie, hot dogs. I usually give some kind of fruit (they love bananas) and sometimes a cookie for dessert. The've eaten steak if it's really tender but don't "love" it yet.
