what is it and will it go away?

I'm 31 weeks, 4 days pregnant. I've been pregnant twice before and have a few low stretch marks, but I'm certainly prepared to see many more in the next few weeks. What I'm wondering is I've seen in pictures of twin pregnancy tummies and now this past weekend I've seen one on me ... a bright red/pink streak on my tummy. Is this streak just a different form of stretch mark? What will it look like a year after delivery? With my other stretch marks, they looked different initially and then they just fade lighter. Just curious if you've experienced similar and what it looked like after.

Is it deeper and 'angrier' than a stretch mark? I looked like I'd been clawed by a lion when pregnant (although I couldn't really see the marks, lol, except with a mirror!)

All of my stretch marks have faded white, but some of the biggest ones you can see the separation of skin like a little valley. It's not awful but not my favorite part of my body for sure. :acute:

yes, that is a great description - is it just a stretch mark but deeper? I've had deep ones ... just didn't remember them looking so red and angry - it's not got the valley thing going yet, but I remember a few of my prior ones having the valley look! :) So, it's just a diff kind of stretch mark?

I think so. The 'big' ones didn't behave any differently than the others. I believe it's just due to REALLY rapidly stretching skin (& I'm very pale).

I got ones like that too. It actually looked like my tummy got burnt. They did fade.
