    Hey ladies!

I'm always looking for something new to try for my dds. I get tired of the pastina with melted velveeta and the french toast and oatmeal with fruit. I would love to hear some of the things you feed your twins that I could perhaps try. TIA for sharing!

    Some stuff my girls like:

Cherrios in a bowl with formula with chopped up bananas, peaches, or strawberries. (I let the cheerios sit in the milk for about 5 minutes so it's nice and mushy by the time they eat it.)

Chicken pastina soup-I just cook the pastina then add store bought (low sodium) chicken stock and chop up tiny pieces of chicken when we get one of those rotisserie chickens. Sometimes I add in little pieces of carrots and string beans.

Somebody told me tofu is perfect for babies so if you have any great recipes for that I would love to know.

Can't wait to hear some of your great ideas!!!

I'm not a big cooker, I like fast and easy. Here are a couple of things I like to give the girls: baked tofu with veggies, and veggie burgers with veggies. They both love these things and they are health. I just baked up some apples with cinnamon and sugar and they were a huge hit.

    Some of our favorites are...

    mini pancakes
    french toast
toast with cream cheese and cinnamon or apple butter
    chunks of banana
    squished, cooked blueberries
    brocolli
    sweet potato chunks
cooked peaches rolled in graham cracker dust or wheat germ(I do this with the bananas too, as well as other fruit)
ditalini pasta with cooked carrots and peas
cheese raviolis, without the sauce for now
    puffs and cereal
    Nutrigrain bars
    oatmeal with applesauce
    Mott's applesauce with cinnamon
    small pieces of cooked chicken
    macaroni and cheese

I have never tried the tofu, curious about it though!!

I also wanted to add that we have a feeding guide sticky at the top of the FY forum. It might give you some good ideas as well! Here is the link.

My friend said she used to roll out a piece of wheat bread and spread fruit on it, roll it up, and cut into pieces. Her kids loved it!

Mine have just started eating table food, so we haven't really gotten past cheese, puffs and bit of bread and fruit. I'm curious to see what you guys feed yours though.

Well, my guys really enjoyed their minced Chinese veggies and rice. (We had Chinese take-out last night)

I make a version of peach cobbler with bits of diced canned peaches sprinkled w/ graham cracker crumbs and a dash of cinnamon.

Banana french toast - slice a banana and lay the slices on piece of bread, lay another slice of bread on the bananas. Toothpick the whole mess together and soak in egg mixture, then fry over med heat until cooked through. Remove picks and enjoy. This is actually somewhat tricky to flip, you have to be careful. You can also do it with other fresh fruit and/or cream cheese. (Makes a good breakfast for everyone though)

Mini "Calzones" - Make a mixture of cooked meat (or tofu ;)), cheese, veggies and anything else you'd like. (Not much, like 1 - 2 cup total). Take a refrigerated canned biscuit (*ahem* not mentioning any brand names here) and roll it into a flat circle. Spoon 2 tablespoons of the mixture into the center of the biscuit, fold over and seal with a fork. Bake your mini "calzones" at 400 until brown. These are really better for toddlers, but I thought I'd throw that out there. You can make quite a few of these and freeze them. Just reheat in the microwave for a minute or so.

Beef glop. This is a GREAT HIGH IRON food (also high in fat!)

    One pound of ground beef
    One bag of tator tots
    One box frozen chopped spinach
    Two cans mushroom soup
    Milk
Cheese (about 3/4 cup - shreaded).

Fry ground beef. While doing that put tator tots in microwave for five minutes. Add tator tots to cooking beef. Mix well (breaking up tator tots). While doing that, microwave frozen spinache for four minutes. Add to meat mixture. Mix well until warmed. Ad two cans of mushroom soup. Add enough milk to make it moist but not soupy. Add shreaded cheese. Cook until cheese is melted and mixed. This looks nasty but is tasty!

I don't suggest feeding babies under 1 yr any kind of melon, it can cause severe allergies. I am extremely allergic to melon and so is my great-aunt. It's not a fun allergy to have, especially if you eat out at restaurants fairly often.

At what age did you ladies begin feeding these types of foods? I am so worried about them choking; especially since they only have 2 teeth.

The most interesting thing that I have fed my girls is homemade zucchini and squash pizza. I wanted to give them something quick and easy to eat with veggies and so I steamed up the veggies topped the pizza with cheese and sauce. They loved it! I actually thought it was really good. Plus, it is really easy to eat since it is just dough, sauce, and soft veggies.

They don't need a lot of teeth as long as it will either dissolve quickly or can be squished between your thumb and pointer finger easily. Have you ever tried sticking your finger in a babies mouth, they can bite hard! They can chomp down on a lot of stuff.

That's right, they don't need a lot of teeth. My DS has no teeth and can eat just about anything, but my DD with 3 teeth chokes on everything - she's a gagger and holds food in her mouth until she has to spit it out.

My babies eat a lof of the same thats been mentioned. They also eat cubed tofu - I buy the kind that is already cubed and they eat it uncooked, right out of the package and do fine with it. I'm always looking for new ideas that are also somewhat healthy for them and my 3-yr old. I can't wait to try some of whats been suggested.

I always worry about what to feed them too but this has given me some great ideas. I didn't think you could feed eggs till they were 1? Is that incorrect?
    Thanks

They shouldn't have egg whites until after 1 because of allergies. Egg yolks are ok. You can scramble those too.

    Waffles
    Meatloaf
When we do mac n cheese, it's the box kind with the bigger shapes so they can get a hold of it!
Whole wheat pasta with a veggie - this pasta takes a little longer to cook up
    Baked peaches
Black beans - OMG! HUGE hit with both babies

I want to try grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner soon!
I told DH I want to do tofu (he doesn't like it, but I do)
    Fish sticks...mmmm
