They are still on purees at this point since their adjusted age is 8.5 months, we have not been given the ok yet to try table foods and I am not sure ds could handle it anyway. He gags on puffs so I have stopped giving them. Anyway, they have been fighting me on the liquids. They have some preemie issues, so it is not necessarily what is in the bottle/sippy cup, it is even getting that in their mouth for them to give it a chance. They have been having some rather hard poops. They go alot, they are just hard. Sometimes they seem to have trouble getting it out but for the most part they seem to be feeling ok, I am just concerned about them working so hard to get them out. We had them on Mylanta, (per the GI) and it was working but I stopped it because sleeping issues started when they started that. I am not sure if it is related but I figured it was worth a shot. So I want to try to do this naturally. What foods (they get purees and yogurt) should I give them or not give them that can help with this. They do already get prune baby food every day. Thanks in advance.

I know bananas traditionally stop babies up...I try and avoid giving them to my girls (we tend towards having issues...)

The ones that help my girls go are prunes (which you're already doing), pears, peaches and I think those are the biggies...and once your guys are ready for table food, our pedi said raisins are a good one for that (they just come out a little plumper than when they went in  !)

For some reason and not sure why but when we have Squash in this house it seems to clean them out in no time. Not runny poops but softer and a lot of them..... Needless to say we do not get Squash often but it does seem to help soften them up quite a bit.

Avoid bananas, rice, applesauce. Pears would be a good one to give them.

Bananas, rice and applesauce are the biggest culprits of constipation. Pears work wonders for us around here.

My DS went thru a phase where he had a problem with this. I would just add a few drops of Karo Syrup to his food and it would take care of it. I didnt use a lot, just a little to help get things moving.

My two are in a constant state of constipation...it seems. Jonas is worse by far because what comes out of him appears to have come from a full grown adult...scary.

We do pears, prunes, peaches, and green veggies to help. No rice cereal (which is not a big deal b/c they didn't care for it anyways...so we do oatmeal or a little mixed grain). Bananas maybe once every two weeks because they love them but they stop them up. Same for applesauce.

Sweet potatoes and carrots also tend to plug the boys up so I have to be careful with those.
