Jack and Lily will not eat oatmeal or warm cereal but I am looking for cereal other than cheerios for them to self feed.

We do all varieties of Cheerios mostly, but I have occasionally given Life, Clifford Crunch, Gorilla Munch, Kix, and they absolutely LOVE it when I give them strawberry Mini Wheats that I've lightly moistened with milk and cut in half.

Funny you asked, because I still ONLY give them Cheerios. I am trying to hold off any 'sugar' in them.

We also give them puffed rice, puffed wheat and cornflakes - from the health food store so it's all sugar free.

I've given mine Chex, too. I was eating some and had the puppy dog eyes looking at me, so I gave them a soggy piece and they loved it. The do fine with it not soggy too.

I was just thinking I should branch out and give them some different cereals, but I wanted to stay low on the sugar end.

We do the various varieties of Cheerios, that's it so far.

My kids have eaten every kind of cereal there is. They eat it with milk, and dry. If you are asking about the finger food/snacky cereal, mine prefer rice chex, Life, frosted shredded mini wheats, any of the sugar cereals (apple jacks, fruit loops, etc).

Besides Cheerios, it's mainly Kix, with occasional Chex.

Cheerios are still the best for us since we watch sugar etc.

But we also do LIFE and Rice Krispies.

Everything that has been mentioned and Rice Krispies. Now at 2 they eat any cereal.

At one, I was only giving them Cheerios but I did try out the different flavors. They liked the multi-grain ones the best. I think the next cereal I tried was Life which is perfect if you let it sit for a few minutes in the milk. It makes it a bit mooshier and easier to eat. Now, my girls eat pretty much ANY cereal we have in the house. I even gave them Lucky Charms for the first time recently and it was a BIG hit. My girls have never drank a whole lot of milk ever since changing over to sippy cups only when they were 16 months so I try to give them cereal often which means I have to change up the cereals to keep them interested.

Kix and Cheerios were the first two. Then I tried Life and just a few days ago I tried the Kashi with O's and hearts. THey love them. Mine have quite a lot of teeth and are doing great. Of course If I'm eating another kind and it's mushy from the milk I offer them a little bite from my spoon. All of theirs is dry.

I know that the Multigrain Cheerios is yummy but I'm afraid it does have quite a bit of sugar in it. I'm pretty sure anyway. My college roomie was diabetic and she was eating this thinking it was healthy and then looked at the ingredients and stopped!

Pretty much just Cheerios and Kix. Once in awhile they get a few of my Multigrain Cheerios, but they do have sugar, so I try to just stick to the low-sugar ones....

My daughter has only had Fruit Loops and Cheerios so far. She would rather eat pancakes, waffles, etc for breakfast.
