What double stroller do you have?

I am terrible at making decisions. I have to order online so won't get to try in the store and am sitting here reading reviews on everything until I feel like throwing up. So I thought I should ask the experts and whose opinions I can trust.

    So here goes..

What double stroller do you have?

Do you love it, do you hate it?

    Why?

And if you could do it all over again, what would you buy now?

I want a new one, twins are 14 months old. We have 2 as I mentioned in previous post - both peg pregoss. The duette is just too bulky and akward and I want it out of my house as no storage. And the aria is broken - not completely - we could suffer if we had to but if I would really like a new one.

I am looking at in particular the -

Contors Options Tandem. I love the fact they can face each other - downside the bulk and again storage I think.
Chicco C5 Twin Stroller. Seems to have good reviews.

I am not sure about weight limits as my son is already in excess of 30lbs so that is of some concern.

Any advice, suggestions welcome..... hit me!!

I have the graco duo glider -- twins are two now. I haven't had issues with it. I didn't care for it in the infant stage though, becuase it was hard to snap the carseats in and out, but that was short lived. I guess I don't regret it now.

I really wanted the twin maclaren, but couldn't afford it at the time and I wasn't sure I would like a side-by-side since we go shopping a lot. while it's nice and lighter, I love having the basket on the bottom of the stroller we have and the bulky wheels, since I do walking a lot. It's been through **** and back.

Probably another year in strollers and we are done!

I was in your situation, in that I had to choose a stroller on line, without seeing them in real life--all those reviews really put you head in a spin don't they?

What I finally did was wrote down a list of what I needed in a stroller.
I needed something that could go over a variety of surfaces easily, gravel, dirt, grass, as well as pavement.
I needed a stroller with the best possible sun protection (I live south of the tropic of cancer).
I needed a stroller that would last until my children no longer needed to use it because I couldn't just run out and get another.
I needed a stroller that I could do the week's shopping (at the open airmarket) in.--so I needed storage!

I didn't need a stoller that was easy to put in and out of the car.
I didn't need a stroller that was narrow and easy to fit between racks at the mall.
I didn't need snack trays or drink holders.

Then I made a list of ALL the double strollers for sale on-line.
With those lists in hand I re-read the reviews and crossed strollers off the list until I was down to my perfect stroller.

My perfect stroller was and is--the dreamer designs ditto. But yours is probably something different.

Almost exactly what she said, except that I didn't need to do the shopping (but I still need storage for multi-hour excursions) and I don't live in the tropics (but the sun is very strong here). I looked at the Dreamer Designs Ditto too, and it sounded great, but I wound up getting a Mountain Buggy because I found a used one for sale at the consignment store. I do love it -- my only complaint is that the storage baskets are a little small for such a big stroller.

It sounds like your needs are different. but I still recommend this approach to choosing.

I have had a DuoGlider since they were born, and it suits my needs just fine. I also didn't care for it while they were infants, but once they were out of the infant seats, and I got more used to taking the stroller in and out and opening it frequently, I found it easy to use. My needs for a stroller are more shopping, taking them to the park, the library, and stuff like that. I like the storage basket under the DuoGlider. I used to frequently feed them in the stroller while we were out, so the trays were important for me.

I got a Combi Twin Savvy, and I love love love it. It is so light and easy to manuver.. turns great and has the 5pt system for the kiddos! Stores great in the van and since it is nice and light it's easy to put in.

I have Combi twin savvy in pink/grey. I keep it in van and love it.

We also have a BOB revolution dualie that we keep in garage (or use for occasional "big" outings). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that stroller!

I have a valco trimode twin. There is nothing I don't love about this stroller. I think I'm the only person who doesn't think it is heavy. I had to get it out of neccessity for the toddler seat attachment. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to justify spending the money (ok there is the downside) But it was worth every penny. I also have a duoglider which I had no real complaints about except it was hard to get into the stroller storage in the bottom and a little bulky/awkward. I figured that was something I would have to live with.

We bought a Combi Sport SBS about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it. The girls are comforatable in it and can be sitting, laying or anywhere in between. It folds up REALLY small and it fits through ALL doorways. It's got good sized baskets underneith and pockets on the backs of the seats. I really really love this stroller.

When they were little we had the Graco Duoglider and really loved it. When they were 19 months we got the Combi Twin Savvy and I love it because it's light and they both get to see out the front. We also have a BOB Dualie that we used for hiking/walking trails. Now that they are older we don't really use either of them anymore.

I have the Peg Perego Duette adn I love it. We had the Peg Perego infant seats, so we used the frame of teh stroller to snap in the car seats. Now, we snap in the normal stroller seats and its great for them. What I love is the easy stearing and the big tires. It stears like a car and is easy to manuver over any service. Also, I can place the seats either both facing out, facing me or facing each other. I usually have them face each other, so they can play footsies and yell at each other. The only thing I don't like is that it does not have a snack tray. Other than that it was a great investment, even though it was a lot of $$$$$$.

    - MacLaren ... need an sturdy umbrella stroller (compact fold) for travelling and the car

    - Mountain Buggy Urban Double - needed something to replace my Bugaboo. Something you can push with one hand, side by side, sturdy, high quality feel and look, something that fit a kiddie board for my oldest, without too much plastic and very simple style (no crazy plaids or bear prints).

I've had a Duoglider and loved that - it was great for taking shopping and such.
At the same time I also had an expedition (can't remember off had who makes these?) - That one was fantastic for long walks and day trips.

Now with 3 I had the PP triple and honestly didn't like it, I sold it after having it for 3 months.

I'm getting a Valco twin Trimode. It seems to have everything I need, good for walks AND to take to the store as it is narrow enough to fit through doorways. Like Jillangel, I'm justifying the cost because I need the toddler seat attachment.

You should check out www.countrymoosekids.com. That's where me and another mommy from Twinstuff just bought our Valcos. She gave us an amazing price and her service is outstanding. She'll even sit on the phone with you and walk you thruogh the features, pros/cons of the strollers that she sells so you know you are making the right choice!

I am a Valco Twin Tri lover too. I do think it is heavy but once you get it our or in-you dont have to deal with that issue at all. I too, have the toddler seat and felt it was the best stroller for all 3 of my kids. I wanted something that "breathed" nicely and had lots of shade cover as we live in FL and its hot and sunny most of the time. One thing I totally love is the cup holder. Odd but true...its the nicest one I have ever seen.

I do have the Combi Twin Savvy as well and I like that stroller since it is nice and light but I love my Valco!

I actually have the contours tandem and LOVE IT ...
I really wanted to get this a little earlier on but wanted to see if it would go on sale and maybe show up in a department store near me..
Then it did and i HAD to get it .
The kids have sooo much fun facing eachother and exchanging books and sippy cups !!!

i also just used it in the March of Dimes walk and it was great. Both seats like back pretty far so that when they fell asleep they were very comfortable!
Sure it takes up some room in the van , but if thats the only downfall that i have to endure for the sake of my kids comfort and enjoyability , then so be it!!!

We just got this and we all love it. The only bad thing is sometimes I have a hard time doing the second fold but it is so much more compact that any other stroller I found and light weight.

I haven't had a chance to read everyone else comments. I am in process of looking for a SBS and already test at BRU with Jeep, Peg P Aria Twins, and Combi Twin Savvy. I was so surprised that I could not manuever around with Peg P or the Combi. The jeep does better but not enough shade, basket, and a bit too wide for us.

What double stroller do you have? I have the older version of Graco DuoGlider

Do you love it, do you hate it? I love it the first 0 to 12 mos but after that I hate it now!

Why? After 12 mos of age that when the twins often kick, pull hair if one of them in front, back seat always pull up (wanting to see), and very hard to get them out with their leg/foot tangle.

And if you could do it all over again, what would you buy now? That something I can't decide at the moment, I'm attemping that Baby Jogger Mini City, I like how the wheels are where you can turn. Also, I won't look like I am pushing so hard like I am going up on a hill, ha!

Now that I went back up and read and surprisely that some of you like the Combi? Huh? Beause I did try to go left/right and it seem like it can't turn good. Why is that? Both of my twins weight 27.5 each, does weight factor the problem?

Anyone has Baby Jogger City Mini?

I am looking at getting the Baby Planet Unity Sport Stroller. It seems to meet all of my requirements, but am hesitating because I can't test it out in a store. I have to buy it on-line. Anyone out there have it? Like it or hate it?

I used my Graco Duoglider until the twins were well over 3 years old and that was my favorite stroller. I also had the Maclaren Twin Traveller (sbs) and the Instep Safari TT (sbs jogger). There were many things that made my Duoglider by main stroller: it had a big storage basket, it fit anywhere, it had snack trays, it had good sunshades, it was easy to fold & get in the car (compared to the wide sbs), it had a parent tray, and it kept the kids separated to cut down on the fighting. Knowing everything I know about strollers now, I would get a Graco Duoglider (or comparable tandem) again in a heartbeat. There were so many downsides to a sbs stroller that it would never be my first choice.

For jogging or hiking, my Instep Safari was great but there was the occasional door that it wouldn't fit through.

I have the Combi Twin Savvy. I like most things about it. The only thing that I don't like is that the kids have a hard time sitting upright. The seats tend to lean a little far back. Does anyone else have this problem?

I don't know if it will fit your needs, but I adore my Bob Duallie. It looks huge, but turns on a dime and fits through standard doorways. It is so easy to maneuver, even one-handed. I jog with it at least a few times a week, and take many more walks. 8 thumbs up! (DH, me, & the twins. :) )

I have a Mountain Buggy Urban Double (love it) and a Combi TWin Savvy LX (it's OK). My babies are 12 months old.

If you liked your PP Aria OK and just want a replacement for that, I think you would be happy with the Combi Twin Sport or Twin Savvy. The Savvy is $100 more than the Sport and for that you get a little bit nicer fabrics, one more panel on the canopies, and kiddie cupholders/snack trays. As PPs said it folds up pretty small (a bit bigger than a golf bag), is pretty lightweight (21 lbs I believe) and is great to have in the car.

The reason I prefer my MBUD is because it's soooo much more maneuverable, so easy to push and steer one-handed. It was hard getting through non-standard width doorways with my Combi but so easy with the MBUD. Both are the same width but if I have to hold the door open with one hand and push with the other hand, it is much easier to do with the MBUD. Also the MBUD has a nice big basket underneath so I can go grocery shopping without dragging a cart behind me. And if you walk a lot the MBUD is definitely so much easier to push (big wheels and air in the tires). We have pushed it on sand and snow and it did great on both. I also heard that as the twins get heavier the MBUD stays relatively easy to push.

The downside to the MBUD (and probably any jogging stroller) is the weight and bulk. Fits fine in my car (a wagon) and I can lift it, but for example my dad and my FIL both cannot lift it.

I have an aria twin which i bought from craigslist and although i love the basket underneath for shopping and the light weight, i find it incredibly difficult to maneouver - the wheels CONSTANTLY get stuck, i can't turn it between racks in target or any large store.

I also have the baby jogger city series double; obvious downside is the weight -it's a bear to schlepp in and out of the van, but i got the 2007 and a HALF series with the three panel sunshade (it was another $100 but well worth it!). Other downsides are no snack trays and it reclines so the kids can't actually sit upright, which is great if they are napping but not so great otherwise now that they're older they want to be more involved in things.

i'm still looking for the perfect stroller....

I have the Jane Powertwin. Its a tandem and it also has big rubber wheels, and the front wheel locks if you want to jog with it. I love it because it can handle any terraine outside and also fit thru tight spots in the grocery store (and turns on a dime with one hand!). Our area is very hilly and we take the girls out at least once a day for a long walk down to our little town so I really wanted something that could be used both outside and in tiny shops.

Now the downsides: the basket underneath is kind of small. I was so spoiled with double sng basket. There is no parent tray or child snack trays (but I may get the parent tray attachment that One Step Ahead sells). The seats are either completely upright or reclined at about 45 degrees. And the kiddo in the back can definitely kick the kiddo in the front, but my girls are on the smallish side so its not that big an issue. If your kids are really tall I wouldn't recommend it.

Oh and here are a couple more upsides: It folds and unfolds SOOOOOO easily. Its not THAT heavy. It has adjustable suspension for different terraines, and it has a hand break to the front wheel.

I have an Inglesina Twin Swift, which is a great stroller for the car -- light, folds easily, etc. The sunshades are useless and sort of a pain, but I really like everything else about it. It's narrow and fits through all doorways. It doesn't have child trays, but I'm debating looking for an aftermarket product I can use....so far we haven't needed trays.

I have it in mind to get a jogging stroller for longer outings (I'm eyeing the BOB or BJCSD), but so far I can't justify it....

I also have the Inglesina Twin Swift. Like it much better than the bulky duoglider. Much lighter. Canopies have an annoying habit of snapping off, but it isn't too bad, maybe they have fixed it on the newer model. Cheaper than the McLaren, well-made, reasonable amount of room in the baskets, great side-by-side. Got mine on sale. Would get it again in a heartbeat. I kind of miss not having a cupholder, but not enough to go out and buy one to attach it!

Combi Twin Savvy. LOVE IT! Had the DuoGlider and thought I liked it while the twins were still in their car seats. Once they had to sit in the stupid thing.. I realized I HATED it!! Sooo uncomfortable for baby in back! UGH. So I sold it and got the Combi and I love it and THEY LOVE IT!

Graco duoglider here too. It was fabulous with the infant carseats. It is not wide so it shops easily and fits through doors well. It seemed heavy at first, but you get over that fast when you are hauling 2 infants and their gear everywhere. I also love the big basket on the bottom and the trays, (kid and adult). It isn't great for off-road though, we also have a BOB. So we have the shopping and around town stroller, and we have the walking, trail stroller.

Watch the seems on your BJCSD.... the seams are coming apart on my seats and I needed to get replacements while under warranty... less than a year old and almost $600 and its falling to pieces. I'm trading it in for an ABC Everest.

I have the Maclaren Twin Techno and had loved it. It fits through narrow doorways and is light and folds up to fit into our little 4 door hatchback and travels well. However, I am wanting something in addition to it for more "off road" conditions. A jogging stroller is just too big for me. So, I too am looking at the Baby Jogger Mini City. Haven't seen it in person yet, but it looks like it is good middle between an umbrella and a big jogging stroller.
