I am 17 weeks 3 days with fraternal twin boys. These are our first and the naming is a bit harder then I thought it would be hahaha .... so far we are thinking going with..

Jamison Patrick (if they shorten it will be JP not James or Jamie) & Weston Thomas

Just wondering what you ladies think :)

Be honest I would appreciate any input. Thanks!!!!

JP is great. My husband has a childhood friend named Jonathan Patrick...shortened JP...and he is one of those all around sweetheart great guys. Good vibes.

Weston is nice as well. I have never, in all my life, met a Weston!? Would Weston be shortened to Wes?

IMHO JP and Wes go really well together. :good: Off to a great start!!

We find out the sex of our babes on Monday...SO exciting. Then we will be full speed ahead with name combo dreaming. How fun!

I like them. They'll be very strong names for when they're grown up too.

Thanks for the replies :)I am glad you like them... when you think these names will be with them forever... its alot of pressure hahaha

Jessietrio- If Weston gets shortened I guess he would be Wes.. I am not rally a name shortening person but my mother in law is.... she shortens everything, super sweet lady but it makes me crazy we had looked at Carson and she waned to call him Car!!! Landon she wanted to call him Land!!! I am not super picky but I don't want sweet little babies to be called Car and Land hahaha So when we were looking I wanted to be sure I could live with whatever she ends up calling them :)

    Hah haha hah...belly laugh.

I'm not really a name shortener either...but it just seems that it happens all around with the babies in my life. Violet=Vi...Natalie=Nat...Tim=TJ

'Car' and 'Land' had me rolling. Which reminds me to consider what my own mother will do with the names we choose for our babies...she does not shorten...she FRENCH-i-fies names. Drives me crazy. Sometimes I have no idea who/what/where she is talking about. Until I make the mental translation.

I really like the names you are considering and thanks for the MIL laugh!

I like them! I know a little boy who goes by JP and he's a sweetie! My MIL shortens things, too, and it annoys me to death! She kept insisting on calling my son, Graham, Gray and I hated it! She would baby talk (another thing I hate!) to him calling him Gray-Gray and would even call him Gray when talking to me. I told my husband it bothered me & if we had wanted him to be called Gray we would have named him that. An annoying nickname is bad enough, but Gray is a completely different name! Finally she did it one time too many and I calming told her "His name is Graham, and it is confusing for him to be called a different name esp. since one of his best friends is named Grayson." She has since stopped doing it, at least in front of me & DH.

Jessietrio- Frenchie-fies had my rolling even though I'm not sure what that is! I'd love to hear an example!

    Maternal FRENCH-i-fi-cation.

    For example:

Jessica= Szeh-see-KAH!!! This is my name.
Tommy= TO-mAT!!! This is my older brother.
Nick= NEE!!-co-las This is my husband.

    Phone call from Mom:

Mom: 'Szeh-see-KAH!!! Would you like to go with me to TarSZAY-bou-TIQUE and then to dinner in Mah-DEE-sun to see TO-mAT???'

Me: [pause, pause, pause] 'Um. Ok.'

Translation is: 'running errands together at Target then visiting and saying 'hi' to my older brother, his wife and daughter in the city of Madison'.

To be fair, we used to live in France and by all accounts my mother is sane? Now that I'm thinking...the French-i-fi-cation is almost like a tic...not always there, but sometimes. And nearly anything can be french-i-fied.

OH my Gosh, I'm going to be a MOM and do weird things that my children will never understand!! Sorry Heath for stealing a reply in your post...your 'Land' and 'Car' just REALLY got me thinking.

OMG, I am dying laughing! Does she know that Thomas is "TOE-mas" in French? LOL. And yes, your children are going to think you are a nut, but if you are lucky they will think it's in a delightful, magical way that they want to join in on like my 2 older ones do :). Some of the weird things you won't even know are weird until they start copying you and giggling!

Jessietrio- OMG I love it!!!! That is hysterical (ps you can post away on any of my post hahaha)

Haley'sHope- Gray for sure isn't short for Graham-- its a whole different name, it would make me crazy to.

Gotta love mother in laws ans mom's.......... although like you said we will all be there someday :)

My mom wants us to name them Jesus (pronounced Jes-US not Hey-sues) and Jonathan... I am like Really mom??? REALLY?!?!? but she is still holding out hope... Good luck with that...

Mother in law wanted bible names as well.... Gideon, Thaddeus, Gabriel, and she would email me the list along with the appropriate bible story that belonged to each name... If she had her way we would have Gid & Thad or Gid & Gab

What surprises me most is both of these woman gave their kids regular names...
    Wil
    Shawn
    Heather
    &
    Robert
    Kelly
    Patrick

    Go Figure LOL

    TwinxesMom- Thank you!!!

I am laughing so hard it sounds like I am having a novel type of seizure. My husband is afraid! I just CANNOT stop laughing.

    Jes-US and Jonathan?

I'm sorry but I fear our mothers must meet for lunch. Without us.

Reminds me of how my grandmother insisted on calling my brother John-Paul, after the beloved Pope, even though this is not his name [my little brother is named Jean-Luc because he was born in France and my parents were inspired]. When I was little I thought it was just old person confusion so I took it upon myself to correct her 'Jean-LUC, grandma! His name is Jean-LUC not John-PAUL!!'

'John-Paul would you like another sandwich?'

Oh my gosh. HaleysHope - good for you!! for calmly reminding your MIL of her grandson's correct name. It is definitely confusing!

My poor little brother and his Papal nickname...talk about developing a complex.

Thank you for the laughs...I have tears in my eyes. :D
