What do you think of a "Babies on Board" or "Twins on Board" sign?

I live in an area with a lot of traffic, and I'm thinking about getting a "Babies on Board" or "Twins on Board" sign for my car to let others know why I might be driving slowly or carefully and to give them a reason to be cautious or to reduce their road rage, if any. However, I fear child predators or people who might be bitter that might purposely want to harm us or them. I know that I might sound naive in saying any of this, but I'm paranoid. Please let me know what you think about having a sign. Thanks!

I personally wouldn't use a sign of any kids advertising that I had children. Your car could be parked anyplace and it could be a slim chance I'm sure but if they wrong person seen it they would "know" you would have your hands full which would make you and your children an easy target.

I have window shades for the girls that say "baby on board" on the outside, there is one on each side obviously. I also have a sticker on my rear window that sais "TWNS" that I bought at the local twins club sale.

Personally I wouldn't use them for the same reason I would NEVER put one of those signs in my front yard advertising the birth of my twins. I see it as an invitation for child predators more than a "be careful I have children in the car". But maybe thats just me.

I would not put a sign like that on my vechicle to announce twins or children in the car. I also did not have any decorative items in the yard announcing their birth due to all the weirdos around these days.

I agree with Noah and Jacob's mom---no signs of any kind!! Too many weirdos!

Wouldn't the car seats in the car also be a pretty dead give away? I parked at work the other day, got out of my car and saw two identical car seats in the car next to me. Of course I thought, cool maybe they have twins too.....maybe they will see I have two of the exact same seats too!

I have a twins on board sign but it doesn't stick so it just lays on the floor. I do have a license plate frame that says warning frazzled parent of twins driving, or something like that. Honestly, I believe if something was going to happen to us it is going to happen to us. I don't think a sign stuck to the window of my car or in my yard is going to be enticing. We are thinking logically in the idea that signs would entice but how many of you think that people who would do these horrible acts also think logically?

I agree with everyone about not advertising you have kids.
Also, no sign is going to stop accidents. It is not like someone thinks right before they get into an accident "Oh no, I better not hit that car - there are babies on board" No one wants to get in accidents.

    I agree.

I have a sign similar to this:

Since becoming pregnant I have been more careful/a LOT more paranoid about safety. I wouldn't announce that I have twins on the road simply because of the slim chance that some weirdo would try to snatch them and sell them. Crazy sounding, I know, but I can't seem to let that thought go. After all, doesn't everyone want twins??? ;)

I used one, and actually noticed people were more kinder drivers. I also had the sun shades on each side of the car so people would know there were babies in there.

I, also, just have the sun shades on each side of the back windows. I, personally, would not put up a sign.

I have the sign on my car and in the window in the back. I tend to often be on a major highway out here where I live and I feel that it does tend to keep cars from tailgating me. I often drive in the HOV lane which is a multi-passenger lane but for some reason people often think it's the drive rediculously fast lane and I feel that the sign has helped people to back off a bit. I'm not worried about pervs because the huge car seats and sun shades on the big side windows would give it away anyway.

I think I agree with everyone else else who thinks they are not a good idea. Twins draw enough attention without advertising it. I didn't do the yard sign with the twins or with my son. There are too many sick and/or crazy people out there. I know I might be too paranoid. I would much rather be safe than sorry.

I have a Baby on Board sign---if it causes one person to slow down a bit and not ride my tail, then it is worth it. We keep the bases in the car so anyone can tell that we have children.

    I want one!

I don't have one, but it's because I think they're cheesy. Not because I think it'll be more enticing to a predator. Like Dianne, I figure the car seat is a dead giveaway.

Though I think they're cute. I have to agree with the "too many weirdos" comments. I don't think I'd use one.

I proudly display my "Twins on Board" sign in car, although my tinted windows in my van don't allow it to be seen very well. :cray:

I wouldn't use them, either. I don't see the point in advertising the fact that you have babies, there are a lot of weirdos out there. As for the carseats, I find most side windows are tinted these days & you really can't see in unless you really put your face against the window. I really don't think the signs serve a purpose either, no one is going to say "oops, they have babies so maybe I will hit that other car instead." ;)

Maybe people who are able drive new vehicles but there are still alot of us out there who can't and the windows are clear as glass. I can assure you I was not putting my face up against anyone's window. I parked my car in the parking lot of my office building, opened the door, got out, turned to close the door and saw the seats in the back seat of the car next to me.

Agreed, but isn't there a possibility that someone might not be as aggressive in their driving because they saw the sign? Less aggression would absolutely mean less accidents.

I have a "twons on board" sign. I agree about seeing the carseats. People can obviously tell that I have three kids by my car seats.

I wouldn't worry about predators, but I don't think it would do any good. People drive however they drive. If anything, they are probably more likely to get irritated with you because they will assume you're reaching behind the seats to hand someone a hat that they just dropped, or something. (I mention that particular example because I was doing it myself yesterday... )

No tinted windows here either -- it is clearly a Mom-mobile even without a sticker. :D Not that someone could tell that on the freeway...
