Hi to all, I was just wondering what people are paying for daycare? Let me explain my situation. I am currently paying 15.00/hr for in my home daycare for my kids. I leave at 2:15pm and my dh is home by 6:30pm. My twins are home with the provider from the time I leave until 3:45 when my older ds gets home. My provider cooks and cleans up from dinner. My provider is having surgery and I will be having replacement help who is actually my aunt. I would like to pay her for her help as she is on a limited income ect., but would still like to pay my provider while she is out as she has no sick time ect. Do people think that 5.00 and hr for my aunt sounds reasonable? It would be 60.00 a week as a need her @ 12 hours a week. I figure this way I could still offer to pay my provider 10.00 and hour while she is out? Sorry to be so long winded I just want to be fair to my aunt and still help out the excellent childcare provider I have. TIA!!
I think that sounds reasonable. I'm sure that your Aunt would be happy to help out without being paid. I also think that paying your permanent provider while she has her surgery is really nice of you. I'm sure that she'll appreciate your kindness.

Yeah, i think that is reasonable! You are a generous person to continue paying your other provider as well. Bless u!
We pay $410/week for both girls, generally around 9-10 hours/day, so that works out to something like $9/hour. It sounds like from yoour post that your aunt is planning to help out w/o getting paid, so I think doing the $5/hour is OK on your part.
