I hope this is allowed.. I don't wan't to cause any problems.

Here is a link to another forum post, of a lady who is due in february with me, This lady has been twice told about an u/s about an echo..

Have you guys ever heard of this?? I figured you guys are the twin pros, so I would ask here for her...
I would be intrested to think that she has gotten this far.. but then again stranger things have happend..

whoa... I'd say she's having twins and needs to get a second opinion. I have never heard of an "echo" before but I am not an MD or an u/s technician.

That just sounds crazy to me! I totally think she's having twins and should get a second opinion asap, let us know what happens

Wow they probably aren't identical based on the u/s, but what if they were...what about complications like TTTS. Have you told her about twinstuff. I would highly recommend she spend the money we all know that anything can happen with twins. Good thing it has gone well for her already...except this crazy Dr. thing.

I met a receptionist who had u/s (probably just at her 20wk) and then she was about 31 weeks and she measured big so they sent her for an u/s that day and saw there was twins and hadn't noticed before, she delivered 1 week later (two girls) you would think with all the technology we have now it wouldn't happen but it sounds like it does. I agree, a second opinion should be in order especially since most docs consider 37 weeks full term that is only a month out!

Wow I definetly agree she needs to get another u/s because that sure as heck looks like twins to me!

how far along is she? She said it was her 20 week U/s but her ticker says 32 weeks. A big difference there.

I would go see a specialist if my doc couldn't tell how many were in there.
that's pretty important stuff I would want my doc to be able to know how to do.

Did they find two heartbeats? It does seem very difficult to do an u/s of multiples. They have to be careful to follow the parts of each baby, and it seemed they were always being extra careful to follow the track of one baby to not get them confused which seemed like an easy mistake to make.

If she's not measuring any bigger and she's already at 32 weeks, I would think it was probably just a messed up ultrasound tech.

I think she said the ultra sound tech did not give her any photos of her second, most recent appt. That pic is from an earlier u/s, so this has now happened twice.
If I were her I would be pretty scared. When I KNEW I was having twins I was still scared, despite having an u/s 1 every week, to the closer you get sometimes 2 a week!
    Hope everything turns out ok.

She made an apt to have a 3D u/s done.. She went to L&D last night and they refused to do one as well.. stating that the baby wasn't in any harm...
It stinks that she has to go outside her medical practice to find out for sure...

Maybe she should have told them she was having twins and they would have taken a look...jmo...they are faster to look for 2 than they are at 1...then if there was only one, she'd know...and wouldn't feel bad about it...

I'd be on the phone with the OB or Peri - and demanding a different sonographer...
