What do you do when they both want you

My girls just started the last week only wanting me. While at first I was flattered, it now has become very frustrating. They will both be fussy and they don't want daddy, they both want mommy. They both want me at the same time! When daddy pics them up they still just cry and cry but when I pick them up they quit. Well, as you girls know, with twins this becomes very difficult. Will these phases come and go and will they soon want daddy but not me and flip flop back and forth from time to time?

I know this is not going to help but, when they both want me, I usually cave in and just hold both of them. It is getting kinda hard now at 9 months old though b/c they dont really sit still anymore. DD used to not care who had her but now she always wants me and DS has always been very clingy to me.

I'll sit with both in my lap and rock like an insane woman but it works... you could try a sling or baby bjorn and then try and hold the other one? from what I've heard the mommy phase comes and goes but gets worse as they get older :) can't wait!

This didn't happen to me that much... my girls will go to anyone (ouch!). But when I was alone with them and both wanted to be held, I wore one in the Bjorn and held the other. Or sat on the couch with both in my lap and rocked them. :hug99:

this is what I'm afraid will happen but the opposite, they won't come to me they will just want dad. They are home with dad all day and right I now I get greeted with smiles and laughter. I'm sure later on they will grow a special attachment to dad.

I've tried holding both and they do not like that at all - they both like to lay across my body at an angle with my arms wrapped tightly around them. It's very hard.

I take them to my bed, laying them down next to each other and then kinda spoon and cuddle them both. if they are on either side of me my back would be to one.

Maybe you could look into getting two more arms ;)

They still usually both want me. If we are in the living room watching TV and one crawls in my lap, it is not long before the other does the same. They rarely want DH at the same time, but it does happen to him at times, mostly though it is just to rough house and play. They want me when they are tired or sick or just want to cuddle. If I am sitting, I just sit one on each knee. I don't know if them both wanting you will ever stop. I think as time goes on you will learn how to deal with it in a way that works for you--but I think that is just the way it is with two.

This is how it is for us. My husband works second, so during the school year he is with them the majority of the time, however on weekends and nights, they are momma's girls. They act as though they've really missed me. They have to know where I am at all times. It's rare that they want him over me--so don't worry!!
