So Im pregnant again with baby #3. I never had a problem with constipation with the twins- apparently with this baby I do :grr:
I had to go to the ER last night because OTC stuff just wasnt cutting it.

The doc gave me discharge instructions stating I should :
    1. Eat all bran cereal
    2. fresh fruit
    3. yogurt

for breakfast everyday and that would do the trick.

What do you do? Drink prune juice or grape juice? Eat apricots? prunes? take fiber like metamucil?

My obgyn told me to take metamucil everyday, don't skip. Of course, now there is activia yogurt, never tried it, but according to Jamie Lee Curtis, it should do the trick :p

OK, just looking at your other topic title (I read it now and see it's not what I thought) but I was going to say $90 worth of Taco Bell should help!
But really, I used to give the girls yogurt with wheat germ every morning when they had issues.

So Taco bell was on the way home from the ER. I was obviously starving after they helped me fix my problem beacuse I hadnt had an appetite when I was feeling Toxic.

I struggle with this, too. Ironically, not quite as bad when I am pregnant.....
I have a really heavy, hearty, whole wheat bread that I eat. In fact, I can only eat one slice per day or I have severe stomach cramping and, well, a problem with the opposite of constipation! The bread is 'Aspen Mills' and I've only seen it here in Utah, at Costco. I don't know if it is sold at other Costco's. If I don't make it to Costco I will either buy Old Grist Mill whole wheat bread or Great Harvest bread. I *know* Great Harvest is a national franchise, but I don't know if you would find the other two near you. Aspen Mills is THE BEST for me!!!
Drinking something hot also helps a lot. I heat up apple cider or even just apple juice and that's an easy thing to try. Lastly, sometimes when I get a crazy McDonalds craving (I usually hate McD, but when I'm pregnant, I can't explain why I *need* it!) Anyhow, a very greasy meal will sometimes also help! I love the Filet-o-fish and fries. I always have to 'go' after that!
Good luck - I know how awful it is to struggle with that!

I eat 5 prunes a day and drink 3 liters of water a day.

    Good luck,

Apricot nectar really helped my DD when she had this problem. She's been better lately, though.

I had this problem when pregnant with the twins. I took Miralax everyday and it worked great. (Probably the most regular I've ever been!)

I had to laugh about the Taco Bell too!

I don't do anything special. I am the type during pg that will have no bm for a day or two and then have 2 or 3 in one day and then be regular for awhile and then start it all over again.
I eat ground up flax on some things, I am water freak during pg, fruit and veg's.
You can take things every day for it like mentioned miralax or if you have to take stool softeners of some sort to help your poop stay soft and flow a little easier, or if it gets stopped you can always do one of those suppositories to help it come out.
