What do real contractions feel like?

ok so I've got diareah sorry TMI today and well last time at 19.5 weeks I went to L&D I was having like menstral cramping but today I've been having like an achy tight feeling in my upper tummy well actually right about where my ribs are......is this something to worry about or just normal? I have been very stressed today....maybe just from that?

 

For me (and I think it's different for everyone), it feels like what I call a "stomach attack". . . sorry to say, but like really bad diarrhea cramps. The first time I experienced them, they weren't what I thought they would feel like.

 

I've had diareah cramps today but this is something different it's just like a come and go achy tight feeling in my upper tummy....I wonder if just from stress.....I mean if it is contraction I have brethine to take but I don't want to take it if I don't need it...

 

My cramps were felt lower and all around my girth. I guess you could try timing the cramps to see if there's any consistency just to be sure it's more gastrointestinal versus uterine?

 

it's not really as high as my ribs but it's higher than my belly button..

It may be caused by the diarrhea. I would call your OB just to be on the safe side.

I started spotting at 31 wks and then I had lots of BHs. Turned out I had a UTI.
