My DD took a very short afternoon nap this afternoon. She maybe slept for 30 min and she normally sleeps from 1-2 hr. I tried to get her to go back to sleep; however, I had no luck. She has been fussy all afternoon. We just finished dinner (solids) and she played for a few minutes and then she started crying from exhaustion. I put her in her crib and she fell asleep. So what do I do about her 7:30 bottle? It was too early and too quick after dinner (solids) to give it to her before putting her down. When do I give her the bottle? Do I wake her? What do I do? TIA

Just wanted to give everyone an update of how things ended up last night. I didn't wake DD for her bottle and let her sleep. She slept all night and I woke her a little after 7 this morning. I've had to wake her the past 2 mornings because of the time change. I'm not worried that she missed her bottle . . . just glad she got a good nights sleep. Thanks so much for all of the wonderful suggestions! I respect all of the opinions and advice on the this board!

Wait and see if she wakes up. If not, one missed bottle won't hurt. She may need the sleep more than the food. My boys miss a bottle once or twice a week, and they usually eat a little more from the next bottle, even if it's the next mornings.

I would feed her at the normal time, but I am a little crazy when it comes to schedules! [IMG]

I would let it go. She is old enough that a missed bottle won't hurt her, and she will probably suck down her bottle in the morning.

I'd say she will wake for her bottle, and when she does... give it to her. Sounds like she was pretty exhausted today! I'd say after a few sips from it, she will be back to sleep.

Me too! We'll occasionally let our girls nap for about 20-30 min. at that time after dinner but before bedtime if they're really exhausted. We always wake them, though, after a short nap to ensure that they staoy on schedule for their last bottle and still sleep through the night. I'm all about schedules though... [IMG]

I think it's totally up to you....I think if she needs that last bottle, she'll wake up for it. However, having had the same thing happen here several times it's been my experience they usually wake for that missed bottle around 1am. [IMG]
