My twins are 4 1/2 months old, and starting to become bored with their activity centers. They can't sit up yet, and the Bumbo isn't too thrilling for them either. They will play with ME for hours, but I don't always have that kind of time. So I am wondering what else I can do with them? thanks!

Mine are just a bit younger than your i look forward to what others say. Mine spend time in there swings, love looking out the window and stroller rides but when i need to get things done i lay a blanket on the floor and turn on the cartoons and lay them on the floor. they love being on the floor. but i to am looking for other thing that they can do.

Mine loved their playmat (you know, the kind with the criss-crossing bars you can hang toys from). I switch the toys all the time. Excersaucers became really fun at that age too.

I have been rotating btwn swing (looking out the window), bouncy seat (watching Baby Einstein), Johnny Jumper (checking out my office), playmats and walker (it's really more like an exersaucer with no saucer & their feet don't reach the floor yet)- the only thing I have two of is the playmat (Multiples program @ TinyLove) so they are usually doing different things all within my sight.

Of course their favorite time is when I get down and play with them but as you said...who has time to do that all day (wouldn't it be great though?)

I started my boys playing in their highchairs (which they are too small for, but iwth a folded up towel, it seems to work) and they tolerate that. I also switch them periodically between the items mentioned in pp's.

Did you know that you can buy a tray for hte bumbo...? I got them and they hold toys, so it's much more interesting for my boys to be in those chairs.

Here's a link to the tray if you haven't seen it before:

mine are 8 months, (5 months adjusted age) and I have 2 of a lot of things. Their favorite is made my Fisher Price, its called the soothing Motions Glider, its a seat that glides side to side or you can swing the seat and it will glide from head to toe. It also has a toy bar with two bears on it, but I always hang those car seat toys on it and they love them ! watch tv, eat, and play in them.
I believe that most stores carry them. I know they run about $70 - $80
but my opinion is they are worth it, I only had one to start and went to buy another.

Wow- I wish I knew about that Bummbo tray a few months back. I think if I had it they would have gotten some more use out of the Bumbo. Great idea!

At that age mine loved the paya mat on floor with the little danglies. I believe that's the age they really started batting at the toys.

At that age mine started to sit in the exersaucer and I also have a bouncy horse that they loved. I mean one day Skylar sat in there for 2 hours and 23 minutes without screaming. It was great!!

We started the exersaucer at that age, and even the jumperoo (just to sit in, they couldn't jump).

But save your money on the Bumbo tray. Use a breakfast tray and BOTH kids can have fun...see the attached pic!

Our loved their playmat and actually still do. Mine also love their exersaucers and started to go in them at your babies age? I don't know if you've ever thought of baby Einstein videos, mine like them.
