We just had our 18 month check up a few weeks ago. Alexandra was 20lbs 8oz and Paige was 20lbs even. Alexandra I think is about the 5 or 10 percentile and Paige just hit her curve again at about the 3rd percentile, apparently she fell off it at the 15 month check up. My girls have always been small and DH and I are not very big and the pedi has never once told us to put weight on the girls.

If it helps Alexandra is 31 inches and 25th percentile and Paige is 32 inches and 75th percentile.

Has your daughter fallen off her curve or has somthing changed? That weight does not seem bad to me. I was told by the childrens hospital that Alexandra goes to (montitored for CF with no current symptoms) that they wanted her calories increased at 6 months just so that she hit the numbers so their program looked good. Needless to say I never did that.

If you and your DH are also on the small side and there is nothing developmentally wrong I don't see a reason to give kids more calories just so that they make it on some chart.

Sorry this was so long, it is a sore subject with me.

We just did ours in last January. My daughter weighs 20 lbs 8 ounces or so. She is in the 8th percentile. She has always been small but growing on her own curve. She came here at just under 5 lbs and was a 38 weeker. Her doctors have never really been concerned since she is growing. She sounds fine to me.

My guys just had their checkup. ALec was 29 lbs and Adam was 26 lbs-rounded. They are 33 1/2" a piece. Mine were born at 33w1d and were 4.3 and 5.3.

I dont scrimp on anything here, as far as calories or fat go. I do however, mostly organic.

Could you try Pediasure? Adding butter to everything? Full fat yogurt?

Thanks. She is followed by a pulmonologist for fast breathing and I guess they want to make sure she is not using calories for that. Although she does fine taking albuterol as needed and flovent daily. She was barely on the chart but has been slowing falling off her curve, needless to say she is not on the chart at this time. She is very active, and right where she should be developmentally and also her lenth is 50th I think, she is just skinny. I am going to start with some pediasure and start a food diary for her. I guess I really need to start pushing the higher fat content. She is a finicky eater and likes stuff like fruit, green vegies, all not so high in fat. My mom says I was small too, I just wish they wouldn't make such a big deal of it. I hate when they compare here to her brother...not all babies are the samein my opinion!!!

Yeah I think the most important thing is that she is growing on HER normal curve even if that is less than the average...and also that her skeleton (height) is growing along her normal curve. My doc said he'd much rather see a skinny tall kid than a shorter plumper kid.

    Mitch was 20lb 2oz 3o inch
    Kenna was 18lbs 10oz 29 inch

We are trying to bulk Mitchell up too! He has been losing weight so my dr told me to try putting heavy cream in his cereal (haven't done that bc he is on soy), put butter on everything, put cheese on veggie. I have been just finding what he will eat and going with that. Right now pop-tarts are his thing, he's obsessive about them. Luckily he loves his veggies too so he will eat broccoli especially! As long as they are on their curve that is all that is important. Kenna is tiny but hasn't fallen off her curve yet!

    HTH!

We just had our 18 month well baby and my girls are 19 ish pounds (19 9 and 19 2). Technically they are about 16 months adjusted but for well-baby they go off of their birthdays. We are having to adjust our food- to increase kcal and have come up with some good ideas (my girls also have sensory issues and newly diagnosd peanut allergy). PM me if you need some help - would be glad to help!

Mine were between 16-17lbs and their Dr wasn't worried about them. They were just tiny since they were born. Now they have had a great growth spurt and at almost 3 they weigh 24lbs and are finally on the growth charts!

The cool thing about this question is that you can see the WIDE range of all our babies! And they are all fine!
