I'm getting into that fishstick, nuggets, PB&J rut, and need some fresh ideas, preferably easy to make and nutricious! So what did you actually feed yours for lunch today. And what other ideas do you have?

We have chicken nuggets, yogurt, and black eyed peas (random!)

They are at daycare today so I am not sure. Here are some of our regular lunch ideas that we use at home:

    1. A bowl of cottage cheese, cucumber slices, rice cakes and a hot veggie with fruit for dessert if still hungry
    2. Tortilla wraps with hummus, cucumber slices and a hot veggie with fruit for dessert if still hungry
    3. Cheese quesadillas (just tortilla wraps with some cheese then put in a frying pan without any oil or butter), cucumber slices and a hot veggie with fruit for dessert if still hungry
    4. cream cheese on a wrap, red or green pepper slices and a veggie with fruit for dessert if still hungry
    5. Cheese, fruit & veggie platter (I just cut up some cheese, a tonne of veggies and some fruit)
    6. Chickpeas, cold veggie & hot veggie and fruit for dessert if still hungry

We could use some more ideas too!

Today was quick - scrambled eggs (made with milk, dill, a bit of tobasco, black pepper and some finely grated cheddar) and whole wheat toast with butter. I also offered some pieces of red pepper, but nobody ate them! They had strawberries and apple slices for dessert and milk to drink.

My girls had sandwiches (peanut butter and fluff), grapes, and goldfish. They eat a sandwich everyday for lunch (tuna, turkey, cheese with mustard, ham, pb & j, roast beef, pepperoni...almost any snadwich meat). I always give them fruit, usually grapes, becsue they like them so much. Then they can have a little "junk"- goldfish crackers, pretzles, chips evey once in a while.

I tried something somewhat new today. I gave them ham and cheese sandwiches on rolls. They weren't impressed. They ended up pulling the thing apart and I think the dog got most of it. Then they had a banana after that, along with their milk.

I get sick of the same thing over and over and over again. I am HORRIBLE at adding veggies. That is something I need to work on...

Well I ask my two want they want for lunch now, since they have their preferences. Today Trevor had a peanut butter sandwich and Emilie had a hotdog. They both had apples, crackers and milk with their choice. :)

I only feed them lunch on weekends, but it's usually grilled cheese one day. The other day, it's fish sticks, nuggets, mini quiche, or leftovers from dinner. Amy will eat hot dogs and lunch meat (plain -- no sandwich), but Sarah won't.

We also usually have edamame as a side dish. They both enjoy opening them, and sometimes one even finds its way into Sarah's mouth (usually a vegetable-free zone).

Today they had some pork roast, cut up cheese, sweet potatoes, and some cut up mixed fruit (banana/grape/apple/orange). They would only eat the pork dipped in ketchup, but they ate it, so yay!

Today my two had carrots, a turkey slice each, and some Cheerios.

I'm also in a lunch rut. I haven't tried sandwiches with them yet though. I like the cheese quesadilla idea though!

Mine love Ketchup too. They call it "DIP!" (and yes the yell it when they say it). After a couple weeks of them demanding dip for everything they are finally eating things without ketchup. I was worried about the sugar in it, but eventually I saw the bigger picture. They were eating!!!

[SIZE=10pt]For lunch they had turkey and cheese sandwiches, green beans and grapes with milk. Tonight for dinner they had shake-n-bake chicken, peas, mashed potatoes and applesauce with milk.

Our usual list of lunches are: chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, bologna sandwich, turkey sandwich, ham sandwich, mac n cheese, leftovers, raviolis and homemade mini pizzas. They have some kind of veggie and fruit with milk at lunch and dinner as well.

    April :)

For lunch today they each had a ham and cheese roll-ups (left over ham and sliced cheese rolled up into the large crescent rolls), they split a can of carrots, a chopped up dill pickle and a cup of milk. They also had a handful of Cherrios while I cooked and shared a chocolate chip cookie when they were done. For dinner tonight we were lazy and had a combo pizza which is hands down their favorite thing to eat.

Normal lunches for us include PB&J, those Lipton pasta pouches, left overs from dinner, ham & cheese sandwiches, etc. We always heat up a can of veggies for them (and they always polish it off!). And if they aren't eating a sandwich, they usually get a piece of buttered bread...which they love!
