One of my girls just started getting it. (Right after she lost most of her hair!)

I used Berts Bees oil but, I bet Baby oil would work too. I put the oil on their scalp and comb and combed. I did this for 2 nights and it was gone and has not been back. HTH!

Tea tree oil diluted with water in a spray bottle.

I have heard that Dawn dish soap and Head and Shoulders shampoo both work. I would usually just put baby oil on their heads and that would help a little so it wasn't so crusty looking.

With my DD she had it sooo very bad that I took her to the Dr about it. We used warm baby oil and combed it up to break it loose then washed it with paul mitchell baby shampoo. After we dryed her hair some (the dr told us to use cortaid on the scalp) we used it and after 3 washes it was gone!

    Good Luck!

Olive oil. Let it sit, comb through to break up the cradle cap, and wash a couple of times. It hasn't come back since.

Dawn dish soap cleared it up in 1-2 washings!! Just be sure not to get it in their eyes.

my ped said dandruff shampoo but I didn't want to use harsh chemicals on my girls. So I got Gentle Naturals cradle cap care, it's in a bottle w/ Winnie the Pooh on it. I love it! It's all natural and works well. The cradle cap comes and goes but it's not as bad as it once was.

I used a ton of vaseline and let them sleep with it on overnight then in the morning I brushed it out and washed it off.

Actually, breastmilk worked best for us. Sounds gross, but it worked! Lots of combing, too, with those super fine combs

I used OLIVE OIL also...let it soak in a bit and then used a comb to lightly loosen it and comb it out...never came back after....

I had previously tried baby oil, but it just moistened it temporarily, then it would come right back.

Baby oil and a soft brush in circles worked for us - all of mine would get it across the eyebrows in addition to the head, so comb didn't always work.

Mine got it bad one time and I found a perfect solution!

You know those disposable baby wash cloths like the Huggies, Pampers, etc? Like these by Huggies
I used those to wash their head and body. It worked PERFECTLY, they never got cradle cap again! Also, I only wash their hair every other day, to this day if they get dirty I'll bathe their body but make sure to skip their hair unless there has been a day in between.

Baby Oil worked for me as far as getting rid of the flakes but then I didn't like the oily hair.

Sean had horrible cradle cap and then had tons of hair. So it looked really bad, like dandruff. But I just would soap up his hair and then massage it with those baby brushes to loosen it up and then use a comb to work it out when we got out of the tub. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something that wouldn't work much better.

Aquaphor mixed with some hydrocortisone (1%) cream before bed. I tried everything (except Dawn); selsun blue, olive oil, baby oil and gentle naturals. Within two days it was mostly gone and then I would follow up before bed with just the aquaphor.

I used this too and it worked really well and was MUCH easier to wash out than the baby oil I tried at first.

Since they were born, I have washed their heads with a little Johnson's Baby Shampoo on one of the soft baby brushes that come with all the baby first aid toolkits (very gentle scrubbing). This was the technique recommended in our newborn care class at the hospital. It was enough to remove the little bit of scaly skin they had; and I think it prevented them from getting it very bad. Plus no reason here to use the brush for anything else--got two baldies!

I would put baby oil on their head before a bath. Take a fine tooth comb, and try and comb it out. Then in the bathtub I would use this scrubby thing that I got at the hospital to wash their head with. Repeat everyday until gone.

We used olive oil - worked great - put it on 15 min before bath, then comb/wash it out.

Also, our pedi recommended Neutrogena T-Gel, which also worked great!
