Seems to be alot of talk about WHEN peoples milk came in so I thought Id do a short poll.
I added the delivery type to see if thers any correlation.

I think Im tired, I put this in the breastfeeding forum but then I thought to myself, DUH!!! Every mother on here has had some type of delivery and whether they chose to nurse or not Im sure they all had milk at some point! Maybe we could move this thread to a better location?? Twinstuff Parents Club or The first year??

I voted that it came in at 4 days, but it was really more like 5 that it was fully "in" with my c-sect. With my vaginal deliver, I had milk on day 2.

    Twins - day 5 - c-section

    Singleton - day 3 - VBAC

The way the poll is written will not show correlation between delivery type and what day since the answers are independent...

Anyway, c-section and sometime between day 3 and 4 I think. I didn't have pain or a shocking increase in size so I'm just going by when their poop changed from tar to mustard.

Also not exactly sure, but I think it came in Friday after a Tuesday (all day) delivery.

This is exactly what happened to me with all my singletons and then the twins.

    DD1- c-section, 4 days
DD2 and 3- c-section, 3 days (I started taking fenugreek a day before delivery and continued it after delivery). Not sure if that helped or not.

I think mine always came in around day 2. I've had c-sections both times.

Day 6-7 and a c/s. I also had severe pre-eclampsia post partum, and I believe (as did the LC) that hindered my milk.

My milk came in on day 4 for all 3 of my pregnancies, 2 vag deliveries and a c-sec with the twins.

honestly ... I don't remember, but I know it was in the hospital and I was there 4 days... so I voted on day 3. I remember the LC making the comment that my milk had come in.

It was around day 5 that I had any noticeable amount of milk. There may have been a few drops before that. I had not been trying to nurse very often (only every 3 hours or so), since I was so wiped out from my c-section and medication, and the nurse had to help me. I was also on IV antibiotics for a persistent low-grade fever -- don't know if that affects when the milk comes in. I had a scheduled c-section and had not been in labor (that I know of) before delivery.

You're right! so in hindsight I wish I would have taken the time to spell out the poll. In either case it looks like day 3-4 for MOST women. All the individual replies were nice thought too :)
