Ok, my twins have been weaned for almost 5 months now. I had "dried up" just 1-2 months after I weaned and didn't have any leakage.

Suddenly this week I've started leaking again, and the fluid looks like collostrum. Has anybody ever had this happen? Why would my boobies do this?

    Help!

It is possible that I am pregnant...although it would be a huge shock. I'm going to be 42 yrs. old! I have been on birth control but stopped taking them 2 mths ago because DH and I weren't.....doing anything. I mean, I was so busy with the end of the school year, and he was depressed from losing his job, that we just weren't having relations. Then I went away for 2 weeks on vacation, when I got back he was suddenly frisky.

So it is possible...but I tried getting pregnant for 15 years...7 IUIs, injectibles the whole infertility works. I would be totally shocked if I was.

Oh my gosh, that would be a shock! :icon_eek: But in a good way :)

I had a clogged duct that developed a couple weeks after weaning. It was sore and it hung around for a little while. Milk definitely stays in your breasts for an extended period of time after weaning, but I don't know about actual leaking??

    Are you having any soreness??

It is totally possible, I have heard of instances where a pregnancy can "correct" infertility problems. Take a pg test just in case and let us know.

I'm not really "sore", but my breasts feel fuller. I have had heartburn the last few days and really strange dreams. I'm craving cereal again like I did with the twins. But, this could also be a secret "hoping" that I am. (I'd really like to be, but it is so shocking). I guess I'm off to buy a pg TEST!

    I'm not pg :(

Oh well...maybe it is for the best. I still don't know why I'm leaking milk almost 6 months after weaning!

I haven't leaked since 2 months after weaning, I have no idea why this has come up again.

Oh sorry Bridget, that stinks. I know you kinda wanted to be.

Yea...I did kind of wanted to be pg. But I'm not really going to try. If it happens, it does and that's the way God wants it. I'm too old anyway, DH recently lost his job...so it is really bad timing now anyway.

    *sigh

Aw... I'm sorry you aren't. :hug99: I have no idea about the leaking except to tell you that mine leaked during puberty on occasion. I certainly wasn't pregnant then! Could be a hormonal thing?

aw, sorry hon. :hug99: you may be interested to know that some mamas still have milk 10 years after weaning, so it doesn't necessarily 'mean' anything. just that you are a woman i guess! :p

Ok, my period still hasn't shown up yet. I'm still producing some milk....but it has slowed a lot. I'm going to go get another pregnancy test. I have an appt. with my doctor tomorrow at 11:30.

I'm still kind of hoping I'm pregnant. I'll let you all know what the pregnancy test says today.
