Because were expecting our little ones in June-We wanted to move out of the complex that we lived in due to noise. We lived on the 2nd floor underneath the 3rd floor wear we would hear everything coming from that unit (and I mean EVERYTHING!) There would be loud unexpected thumps that would really scare me (the thumps would be right over our bedroom and my head) Well, this would startle me so much that my heart would beat deeply out of fear and being caught off guard. I felt that this was not good for my growing babies.I wanted to be as peaceful and restful as possible through this pregnancy as I do feel that it will truly make a difference. Also, these people were told about their disturbing loud activities numerous times-from the cops once the office sent out a warning letter to them once after I had complained maybe on 5 different occasions.Bottom line it was time to go and we did. We moved into another apartment community-much nicer-we're still on the second floor because I never want to live underneath anyone ever again-it is very quiet and peaceful and all-But I have noticed that there is a bug problem in mostly in the kitchen. I bought Bengal odorless spray and I have sprayed it twice even though I still woder if the toxins are harmful for me and the babies.I can not believe that a place so nice even has this problem. I really hate being in this position....I am afraid to go in my own kitchen because I wonder if the air is polluted and I am concerned about cooking-the kitchen has no windows that I can open.Today I plan on buying an air humidifier and put in the kitchen area to be on the safe side. I also hate people in and out of my living quarters because my husband and I takes off our shoes before walking on the carpet and maitenance people and pesticide people....well I can't expect to have them take their shoes off. And God knows where there shoes have been and we like to be able to lay on our carpet and let the kids (that I babysit) lay on the carpet. But anyway....I was just venting. The question is what is safe to have them spray that is also odorless that will not harm the twins? Thanks in advance for advise. :itwins_boys:

It's not just the fumes that are hazardous, but the spray residue that will land on EVERYTHING. What kind of bugs are they? I could probably help but you need to know what the critters are first. If they are a type of crawler that would be attracted to bait, that would probably be your best bet since they ingest the poison and then die, but even then let your DH/SO handle the traps. Pesticides in general are not cool and the baits don't work on all types of bugs.

If you really want to get rid of them, you are going to have to contact some "professionals" and tell them you are pregnant, and you want something organic and toxic free. It will cost you. Maybe you can talk to your manager and see if they can pay for half, but there are things you can do that is non-toxic...

I would start with terminix or orkin. You could also try a local pest control for your area.

I would definitely contact management. Chances are if you have them, other units do also and even if you treat your apt., if others still have a problem, they're going to keep coming back.

And others almost definitely have a problem b/c from what I understand, roaches start at the bottom of a building and move on up!

Thanks everyone, I did contact management and told them about the problem as well as my situation and concerns. She scheduled pesticide to come out Thursday to spray. I will definately be here to make sure that what ever they do is non-toxic or organic. :good:

I understand the embarrassment factor, but you're doing the right thing getting this taken care of now. PP are right. The bugs won't be in just your place. In apartment buildings you can't control how clean other people are. I work in a school and there are roaches all over the place there. It's inevitable when you have a zillion kids eating in the halls and keeping food in their lockers. I hope your management gets it taken care of for you or helps with the cost.

This will definately be at their expense...we have only been here 2wks. now.We moved here for a better enviroment to bring our babies in-And this place is more expensive than where I was before. It's true the noise was outrageous where we use to live..But we never had problems with roaches in any place I have lived over the 8 yrs. I've been in this state. :umm:

You may want to look up Borax and see if this might help. Google it, I can't believe how it works for flies.
