Have you tried broken up crackers, rice, orzo (mine love that with butter), eggs, grilled cheese, steamfresh veggies, other pasta dishes (spaghetti, lasanga), fish (flounder, tilipia) but not shellfish, not sure how old they can be for shellfish but I know we have not tried shellfish with ours yet because I'm not sure how old they have to be for that.

How about toast? Here is a link to the sticky about First Year finger foods located at the top of the first year forum.

this week i have made a
fish and cheesy pototo meal (make sure you get boneless fish pieces) and

chicken, butternut squash and rice. they love the squash, its tasty and easy to eat mashed or in pieces.

they tried kiwi fruit at play group today and loved it!

i always have some mashed up apple on the go to add to things.

eggy bread is a winner as well. egg, milk mix with a fork. dip the bread in to soak it up then fry. yum yum

how are yours doing with more solidy food? mine are nearly 10 months, brook is trying and doing o.k but oran is finding it hard and keeps being sick. i think im being over cautious and still pureeing most of their food.
happy cooking - let us know if you find a good thing to cook that they like

At 11 months they only things the girls didn't eat were nuts, hard things that could be choking hazards, and shell fish. I think its recommended that you avoid egg whites until after their first b-day too, but we don't have any history of allergies, so I didn't follow that.

have you done eggs? You could scramble some egg yolks and add some cheese? Cut up soft potato? Turkey breast? Baked chicken?

I give my DS (11mths) pretty much whatever we are eating. I make him mini muffins (jiffy mixes like apple cinnamon, oatmeal) and he LOVES those. He likes any meat, veggie or fruit that he can pick up and feed himself.
