What type of booser seats do you like for the kitchen? My little loves are 2.5 and they are fine in their high chairs but would perfer to be at the table I'm willing to bet. Problem: we only have 4 chairs & 3 kids... That's another issue. We clearly have to get another table and chairs. The current charis are padded not just oak. so that may make a difference in your input. I was thinking of the squishy ones??? I've even seen them with straps that go around the chair and seat belts. Seat belt may be a very good thing!!!

    Any inputs are appreciated!!

Geez I'll have to sell 2 preg preggo highchairs. wow my babies r growing up!!!!

    Thanks

We have the Fisher Price Healthy Boosters, but at 2.5 you might be safe with just those kushy ones. Mine moved to boosters at the table around 16-17 months, and we have not strapped them in now for quite a long while.

We have the cooshie seats and LOVE them. Easy to clean, easy to move!

There is noway at age 3 my 2 would want 'straps' or buckles to keep them in. They like to get in/out of the chairs themselves! We started using them around age 2 1/2 without problems. We had the hard Fisherprice boosters w/ trays, but they fell apart after about a year (from 18+ plus we used them) and the seats would not stay 'up' (adjustable). It was also hard to clean the straps when they got dirty.

    Cooshie

We have these in pink & green. Though I do have to say we paid $28 somewhere online ( I forget where)...Amazon is overpriced.

Have you dropped their highchairs to table height? That is what we did at first, then we went right to regular chairs.

    KC,

Me again, do you think the cooshies without the straps to hold onto the chair would stay on cushioned chairs? I'm wondering if they would flip off when they climb on them?

    Sharon,

I have tried lowering the high chairs- unfortunatly they are not buying it. It also seems they cant get close enough tothe table. I'm not really sure why. They do just sit on the chairs sometimes but they have taken mor than one spill onto our hardwood floor. owch

    Thanks ladies

I second those... they were also kind to our nice wood chairs... the hard plastic ones would scrape the chair it was in....

We have the Fisher Price Rainforest boosters and the girls LOVE them. They strap around the back and bottom of the chair so very secure. All the straps come out and can go in the wash. The only PIA about them is the adjustable part. Had to get the screwdriver out to adjust... We haven't used HighChairs since they were 1 (now 2) and have never had a problem....

The Cooshie Booster is THE best chair to have. They work on cushions (like at my moms) and wood (like we have here). If your children know and respect the rules at the table (i.e., sitting on their bottom, not climbing, etc.), then those should be perfect! We are still using ours at almost four years old. The kids tried last week to eat without them, and couldn't. These raise them to just the right height!

Thanks so much!! I think I just may get those cooshie ones mentioned! Love the boy / girl colors!!! Thank you so much for telling me they work on coushins! Do they sit on their bottoms while they eat and listen to rules :rotflmbo: :rotflmbo: Seriously that was funny. I mean don't get me wrong they will sit for awhile but... I watched suppernanny last night with the two sets of twins and I was laughing out loud with the entire naughty spot experience... SOOOOO my house!!.

I'll just try the boosters I think they will love it. I will also keep the high chairs for a bit. I know my DD will be fine but my DS may b doing headstands on it  It's time!! I know its time. We just moved them into their own big beds and own rooms.

So you swear they will be secure on the coushions???

    Thanks

We also have the cooshies and love them. My one 6yr old still uses it sometimes even though she doesn't need it. We even took them to the movie theater with us so they could sit nicer in the seats. My son uses one and has since before 18mths (I also kept the highchair so if he wasn't sitting nicely he would be put in that). He does well as long as he's not moving around to much. I worry more about him pushing back on the chair and tipping the whole chair over while he is sitting in it. He climbs up into the chair on his own but he does need a little help adjusting the booster since it does move a little while he is climbing up into it. I love these so much more that the plastic boosters, they were so hard to clean for me I got ants in them. These clean up nicely and have lasted 3yrs and a kitten who likes to chew them and sleep in them (we are trying to get him to stop but he sneaks up and gets them sometimes). I think we bought ours from leaps and bounds, I thought we paid less than that but I can't remember. I also like that it came with a nice carrying case even though we didn't use it too often.

We have the Fisher price heathy booster. I love them, they are super durable and strap to the chair. They have trays like a high chair and are great when u go to someone house. My older 2 use them now, but will be put babies in them eventually. They also have a height adjustment on them. I think they were about $25 at babiesrus.
