what are your babies allergic to?

One of my girls is allergic to things I wouldn't imagine anyone could be allergic to like rice and carrots. I was wondering what other babies are allergic to. If I know maybe I can approach some new foods with caution and not be so surprised every time. Also, I'm wondering if there are patterns in allergies. Like if a baby is allergic to carrots is she also allergic to other orange foods? Does egg allergy always mean chicken allergy?
    Thanks ;)

Carrots(raw) are actually pretty high on the scale as far as allergens, but cooked they are much lower. HERE is a table of foods and how they rate on being allergens. Hope it helps. I know you have had a rough time with the allergies and excema. :hug99:

Thanks for the link to the allergy list, Becky. It was really interesting to see & helps when deciding what to feed the babies. :) They show no signs of allergies yet, but I am allergic to quite a few foods so it's all good to know!

thanks for the list!! we are having a time with excema - right now the only thing solid mine have eaten (besides the taste of strawberry milkshake that my well I better not say true feelings  MIL gave them  ) is rice cereal . I am thinking that our problem was because of the baby soap I was using, since I switched to Dove we are doing much better. I am hoping we won't have food issues.

We have not had any food allergies; just some slight case of seborrhea dermitatis....rough patches on the skin. As Noah as grown though it has really faded to only a spot on his ankle and shoulder. It used to be on his face and top of his head as well.

You are welcome! I can't take the credit for finding it though, a fellow TSer posted the link one time and I thought it was good, so I added it to my favorites! So thank you whoever you were!

We had this too, have you tried Head and Shoulders shampoo on it? Emma even had it in her ears!

Mayson has developed a rash looking area on the left side of his scalp. The thing is that it happened shortly after we started him on rice cereal for his reflux. I have been debating whether I should take him to the doctor. Do you think it could be an alergic reaction to the rice? I am just not sure what to do to make it get better.

I think my daughter is allergic to whatever makes thin mints minty. Whatever it is I think is also the flavor in pepto bismol. If I eat either, she gets zitty looking hives. (I'm breastfeeding.)

Thin mints are flavored with Oil of Peppermint, which might be wise for you to avoid while breastfeeding since it decreases milk supply. (Mint gave Sean gas too for some reason while I was bfing) Pepto is flavored with a synthetic mint flavor (it's an ester of some kind).

One of mine is allergic to sweet potatoes - he gets violently ill (projectile vomiting, bad rash) if he eats them. Just goes to show that just about anything can cause an allergy - sweet potatoes are at the bottom of the food allergy list that was posted!
