What are you going to do differently this time?

When my twins were born I was totally unprepared for just how much my life was going to change. Taking care of two babies was way harder than I imagined, breast feeding was a disaster, the sleep deprivation was unbearable...I almost went crazy. Well, I kind of did go crazy, which lead to health problems. Anyway, this time around I want to do so many things differently. I want the birth of this new baby to be a positive experience. I want to line up lots of help and I want to enjoy life as much as I can. I think we might even hire some help, if we can. I might even hire a night nurse for the first little bit, even though it's just one baby. At least then there will be someone to help me with breast feeding issues, etc. in the wee hours.

Anyway, anyone else going to do things a little differently this time around?

Well, this is baby #6, and unless something drastic happens, our last. So I'm really going to try to enjoy every bit of it as much as I can!!!

I was so young when I had my first and I was trying to hard to do everything perfectly then with the twins I was so busy and tired with my youngest I had the 1 year old twins and he was sick at first and I dont think I took the time to just enjoy my babies, any of them. I agree with Dielle I just want to enjoy this one because this is it for me too. I want to have lots of cuddles and breathe in that baby smell :) .

This baby will also be our last. I hope to treasure that infant months more than I did with the twins. I was just too exhausted with the twins to really enjoy it I think.

Also, I feel more confident about setting sleep schedules, etc so I'm hoping to get this one to sleep through the night before 9 months. I don't think I remember anything before 9 months with the twins, lol. Naps too I think I will know what to do more, and not spend so much time stressing over them.

Hmmmm, differently? I was MUCH LESS STRESED. I didn't freak out as much if she was crying, even at night, though she was 100% better than the boys. Also, I work 3 days a week and while I was on mat. leave I cont'd to send them to day care so I had time alone with just the baby. That was AWESOME!
