I can't believe all of the Christmas stuff out in the stores! I'm really trying to get ahead this year because we are having a baby at the end of November. So, just wondering what you are get.ting your kids. We got the girls (who will be 4 in January) a train table and my mother got them the Twin Dollhouse from Fisher Price. I want to get them kids digital cameras, but have heard mixed reviews.
They want some kind of computer (kids laptop, computer something), but I need something that is either cheap enough to buy two or that is simple enough for them to use independently. With the laptops that we have looked at in the store (Vtech, I think), they just sit there and press the buttons over and over. I don't know if they are patient enough to sit and wait for the next activity, or can figure it out on their own. I know I'll be busy with the baby to really spend a lot of time showing them how to use it.

I also have to but for my three year old neice and my 18 month old nephew. I welcom any suggestions!

Thanks ( and Happy Holidays! )

last year I got my 5 and 7 year old each digital cameras (fisher price). The picture is not great, and they are not high quality, but they LOVE them (and leave MY camera alone!!!!!). I am so glad we spent the money.

Twin Time Loving Family Dollhouse accessories for Hannah
Geo Trax for Ben (he has some, but we'll add on to what he has)

I think my inlaws will get them bikes. My mom and dad will get Hannah the dollhouse and Ben some Imaginext toys (he wants the Pirate Ship and I want the castle!).

Last Christmas my boys (3 at the time) got 'Leapsters' (not pink ones... :D ). They have been a HUGE hit! It took them all of one day to figure out how to make the games work. We spent most of Christmas day sitting and showing them how to play the games, but after that they just took off and really LOVE them. I think they are pretty darn clever, as well. Even when there is no game in, they have some fun features that really entertain my boys.

Leap frog has a "computer" keyboard that comes with four learning games. It attatches to the TV-not the computer. My two are so obsessed with the computer at the moment I believe this is coming for Christmas.

Lincoln logs/tinker toys. We have a castle toy we were going to give them last year but didn't. I think they are actually ready this year. Also fisher price has a microphone that comes with a music cartridge that has songs on it. This is it so far.
Oh they are asking for hungry hungry hippo game so this is on the list.

For my girls (they'll be 5 in Nov) we got clothes and coloring books (love to color and draw) already and I'm planning on getting them polly pocket or disney princess (the ones that are the same size as polly pockets) dolls, little piggy banks, and maybe two wheel bikes or maybe a new v smile game. In their stockings they'll get chap stick and probably a little nail polish.

My son will get some kind of truck or car (which my girls will also probably play with) and clothes.

    We got them....

    Twin Time Dollhouse with Accessories
Disney Princess Dress-up Clothes (all 4 princess outfits with the accessories)
    Disney Princess 6-pair Shoe Set
    Art Easel from Costco

This has all cost around $150 total. We probably aren't doing too much more. We'll leave that up to the grandparents. We wanted to get them some bigger stuff. WE'll probably get some new books and puzzles and I'm debating possibly bean bag chairs (I saw some reasonably priced ones at Meijer). But, other than that, I just did their new bedroom (paint, new bedding for both beds, accessories, etc...that was expensive). So, we went a little "cheaper" on the gifts since they are still young and don't really know any better...plus with my job just being part-time and with a new baby coming, we had to kind of cut corners somewhere.
