    Hi there,
I have gotten basically no oinformation about what and how much I should be eating with a twin pregnancy. I have asked, but all I get is not much different than a singleton... I just got the book When You are Expecting Twins, Triplets and Quads and they have a pretty clear idea about what you should be eating... Is anyone on a special diet or seeing a dietician to make sure you are eating well for twins? I am 19weeks 4 days and I have only gained 10 pounds... According to this book I sould be at more like 19 pounds! I eat and I feel hungry a lot, but I also eat a lot... any ideas?

I kinda just eat what i want when i want, but i make sure i take my prenatals and get my calcuim (I HATE MILK). I dont really eat that much more than b4 i was preggo... I am 30 weeks almost and i have only gained 30 lbs and by about 20 weeks i had only gained 5-10lbs. as long as the babies look healthy i dont think it matters how much weight you have gained...

I too read the 20lbs at 20 weeks. Personally I just haven't had an appetite with this pregnancy, I really have to force myself to eat most days (not like myself at all). At 27 weeks I'd put on about 22 lbs, but the girls are growing well, and my ob seems happy with everything.

If you are really concerned check with your ob.

I was told that I needed to be sure to get lots of calcium- they said prenatals are only giving me about a 5th of the calcium I needed- so trying to get yogurt, milk, icecream (such a tough one) in, then I just eat whatever my body is craving- been having a lot of that lately. Also- supposed to eat 300 calories more a day per child then pre pregnancy. I am 13 weeks and have gained 4 pounds, and he didn't really say anything- the babies are growing right on target- I guess in the end that is what matters the most!

The only thing my dr told me was to eat a normal diet and add three hundred calories per baby. and eat a lot of fruits and veggies and drink water

    Hi,

My last appt. was Tuesday, June 26, at nineteen weeks. I was measuring 23 weeks and showing a weight gain of nine pounds. The babies are exactly where they should be by weight and measurement. I have heard eating 300 calories more per day per baby is plenty. I have been adding 400-600 calories more per day and have been successful. Once in a while I splurge, because, I'm always hungry . Hope this helps.
