I haven't taken anything but would like to feel relief. What are you taking for your back/hip aches?

Tylenol, warm baths and heat pads (I have a gel pack I warm up). That and dh gives me massages on my back!

I agree with the Tylenol. Be careful with the warm baths and heat pads not to get them too hot. I probably wouldn't hurt to run it by your Dr either, just so they know what's going on. I hope you are able to get some relief!

Would you be open to trying a chiropractor? That was the best relief. Also like Krystyn said, watch the heat. I used ice packs on my lower back.

Tylenol, and I started Physical Therapy this week....Its started helping=)

Also with my son the hospital gave me a rice sock when I had fallen and hurt my back, I made one now with this pregnancy because the back pain at times is unbearable. Just take one of DH's socks (there longer) and fill it with rice tie the top and put it in the microwave for a few minutes......its great it stays hot/warm for a long time and its shaped perfect for your lower back instead of a flat heating pad

Back pain and hip pain stinks during pregnancy...I'm always scared to stretch in the wrong way and getting comfortable..Ugh forget it...LOL

    Good Luck

I've heard other woman here say Chiropractors are great (my Insurance doesnt cover it=(

Tylenol PM at night so I could sleep. Other than that (regular tylenol really didn't help much during the day) I just tried not to do too much. I did alot of laying in a nest of pillows on the floor or on the low couch so I could still play with Aaron (since he was still a baby) but not move around more than I had to. A heating pad helped sometimes and I was too big/uncoordinated to get in and out of the bathtub so no warm baths for me. I did find that a hot shower with the shower massage pointed at my lower back felt really good and would loosen things up so if I went from the shower to my nest, I wasn't as achy for a while. Just keep reminding yourself that you're growing two babies and even though you hurt, they are much better off inside than in the NICU. I had to remind myself sometimes hourly but it helped keep things in perspective for me.

My OB said I could use the ICY HOT patch. I used it last night and it helped a lot combined with tylenol.

Thanks for the tips. Working on not sitting for more than an hour at a time, I have a desk job so there is a lot of sitting, and trying to walk a circle for 10 minutes every hour.

I am taking tylenol but am still feeling like I almost have to pick up one of my legs and swing them around when I have to walk.

Ugh I remeber those days and nights. I couldn't sleep at all because the pressure on hips was soooo painfull. I gained 65 lbs and started off at 110. I was put on Darvocet for pain, a little stronger than tylenol but it has it in it. Plus it made me a little sleepy so that helped with insomnia. Its safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding moms.
Also instant stick on heating pads were great. My DF was/is the worst at giving massages so I bought a back massager too.
