I am really thinking hard on this subject [IMG]....Ours are really still to little and its really not going to matter to them if they have 1 toy or 10 toys [IMG] They are not going to care either way.

I'm thinking about a Plastic little red wagon with the seats and seat belts, I was reading that the ages are 18 months to 5 years But a mom with 7 month old twins posted on the reviews and said the wagon had been really wonderful that her babies LOVED it and would rather ride in it than in the stroller. We don't get out much at all and I thought this would make a wonderfull gift that might get us OUT of the house LOL.

Also I've bought a sleep sounds machine online (thats for Katie, Kyle AND ME LOL) I'm not sure If I'm going to make it a Christmas present or just go ahead and start using it when we get it.

That is really all I have come up with [IMG] Other than just simple stuff like a Doll/Truck.

What's everyone else doing on presents??

We obviously have a lot of toys here at our house because of John! But Santa is bringing Kev and Pat Wiggles DVDs (under $10 each) and two Winnie the Poohs to sleep with ($10 a piece) and their big brother got them the Fisher Price Amazing Animals train. [IMG]

DH and I talked about this earlier today. We too, have alot of toys around the house already. I think we are going to get them a baby bed to sleep in (they've been in PNP,) some clothes and a few small things. I got mobiles from Tiny Love a few weeks ago on their multiples program and floor gyms- only have one floor gym out so far so the other stuff will be for Christmas. Like you already made a point of, Cablegirl, the boys are so little that the gifts are more what we want them to have than anything else. I really love wrapping but with everything else going on I don't know if I will wrap much of their stuff (just one or two items so Micah thinks Santa brought something for his brothers too) just so I (or DH) can unwrap it.KWIM?

Santa is bringing our little ones a red wagon. I know they are a little young for it now but it will be great down the road. I also thought I would get them a little soft photo album for them to keep pictures in as they begin learning who is who.

    Ho Ho Ho!

We keep buying stuff for the boys...but like pp said, what's the point in waiting until Xmas to give it to them? We'll have a few things for them on Xmas...but their holiday budget this year will be blown on 6 new car seats...2 for my car, 2 for Daddy's car and 2 for Gma's car (our "nanny").

We aren't buying them anything...Bahumbug, I know. We both really love Christmas and gift giving, but money is very tight because I am trying not to go back to work (or at least very part-time). They have so many things now, and our family will be getting them clothes and toys. We figure we may as well take advantage of them not knowing the difference this year - because it will be the last! We may end up feeling guilty and buy something, but no plans to right now.

We love Christmas around here. Especially now that my oldest will be 2.5, he fully understands what is going on and is very excited. The twins are getting a lot (probably because I feel bad getting big brother stuff and not them). They are getting a Bead Maze, Chatter Phone, books, A electric storybook, a Buzz Light year toy (they love big bros one when he is napping so we got them their own, just a softer version), the zebra bouncer(from aunt), the bouncy tigger(grandparents), the dino roll-a-round ball set with extra balls(grandparents), a teeter totter, laugh and learn house(grandparents), some clothes, cars, and some stocking stuffers. I know it is overboard but like I said we love Christmas around here.

I'm not buying much at all.
They are still too young to understand- they have a closet full of clothes and plenty of "things" for the next few months.
Money is just too darned tight this year.

We will get them a few toys and open it with them X-mas morning. I know they probably won't understand but... I have to get pics of their first Christmas and opening presents. They'll love to look back on it one day. I feel I could never have enough toys for them. I'll put some old ones away and then bring them out a few months later and they will seem new again. Wouldn't it be nice if a baby Christmas/birthday registry was not a tacky idea?? LOL Hey, anything goes here in the Big Apple so maybe I'll start a new trend [IMG]

I don't think it's tacky at all, and friends of ours do indeed maintain wish lists for their kids (usually on amazon.com) so that they can keep track of things they want to buy but haven't yet, and so that family and friends can see what it is they want for their kids for holidays and birthdays. DH and I are thrilled when someone has a list maintained for their kids!! We have a wish list for the kids at amazon but I haven't kept it up at all, and I recently created a registry at myregistry.com, b/c that allows me to include items from any site...any store...anywhere...period. I don't know how much it will get used but my parents and ILs are interested, probably some other relatives, and a few friends.

As for this holiday season, DH and I are not entirely on the same page with it. We both agree that it's essentially meaningless in terms of the kids -- they don't know the difference, and to the extent they enjoy getting anything their grandparents will buy them a few things anyway. On top of that, DH and I are committed to setting holiday limits for future years, anyway -- I can't stand when I see kids who 1) don't appreciate any gift/item at all because they are inundated with so many, 2) grow up with what DH and I call "entitlement complexes", and 3) are just overstimulated by...stuff...which I believe is really unhealthy (and leads to complaints #1 and #2!). Nonetheless, I would like to see them get one "fun item" for Christmas this year, and as their grandparents aren't getting them any toys or "fun" items I will probably get one large-ish toy for them both. When my parents came over with a couple of toys for them recently, they had an absolute blast pulling off the paper (which was every bit as exciting for them as the toy anyway), so I will definitely wrap it! We'll also get them something small for Chanukah, although I'm not sure what yet (and that's only a couple of weeks away....yikes!)

Family members have been asking what the babies want for xmas. Tough not to give a sarcastic answer to that question at this point, isn't it? I figure a couple of toys should suffice - I can get pictures and they can play with the wrapping paper!

Like pp said, this is probably the only year that we can get away without doing much! [IMG]

The girls pretty much have already gotten their Christmas gifts, Great Grandma sent money as we needed certain things, so they have gotten a second crib, a bumbo, bebe pod and Brooke just got a convertable car seat. THe rest of the family is sending money. THe first year we pretty much stick to teething rings, small developmental toys (thankfully we have a ton from my son being a preemie as well) and diapers. I know it doesnt sound all that fun but everyone prefers we use the money on things really needed rather than fun things at this age. Even my son isnt getting too many fun things and hes nearly 3....booster seat (which he will LOVE) and some random toys.

For their 1st Christmas (6 months), I didn't get them anything except stockings and ornaments. They had enough presents from relatives and didn't need anything.

For the 2nd Christmas (18 months), I got them the Signing Time DVDs and the Muzzy Spanish DVD set. I gave them both of those presents at about 15 months though because I wanted them to be able to use them rather than having them wrapped up under the tree for 3 more months. If I had know about the Signing Times the year before, I would have gotten them at that point because they are wonderful!

For the 3rd Christmas (2.5 years), I didn't get them anything but stocking stuffers and ornaments. Again, the presents from relatives were more than enough. [IMG]

This year (3.5 years) I'm just getting them stocking stuffers & ornaments again. I know my mom has already gotten them a big Thomas train set, a tool bench, a tent/tube house, two other big play items, and my grandma got them a play kitchen. Needless to say, there is no more room for toys around here. [IMG]

The girls will be getting a little diaper bag, dolly sling, and doll cloth diapers when the baby comes a couple months later as well.

Just a note - the wagon is GREAT for them once they can sit up. Our girls really love riding around in the double wagon. My mom has one for her house and my MIL is getting the girls the canopy one for Christmas. I'm excited - it really is a great gift! And they don't need to be 18 months old to use it. As long as they sit up well they can easily sit in it (and before that you can bundle them in blankets and lay them down for a ride. [IMG]

Lets see, I know they don't need a lot, but I LOVE Christmas [IMG] I'll be getting them new carseats and bath seats, the peak and play discovery dome, rock & rattle pooh, lullaby glow worm, one of those ring stackers, babys 1st xmas ornaments, and The Little Mermaid on DVD (Im starting a disney collection for them). Oh and some clothes too, but with family and friends I think they will get LOTS of clothes lol. I've gotten some small teething, rattle type toys for there stockings, and maybe some baby einstein books/dvds.

The boys are getting alot this year b/c their b day and xmas are so close together and although I dont need in excuse to buy stuff for them in the summer I'm trying to get things they will use for the next year. They got their wagon and their play wall early and loved both.

For xmas/ birthday from us/santa they are getting.

    weebles toys
    Lil People farm and boat,
    bath toys,
    books,
    lawn mower,
    vacuum,
    shape sorter,
    ball toss,
    blues clues bed time dolls,
    fisher price learning table,
baby cell phone, (they are in love with mine,
    Grill,
    lil people race track,
    wheel pals cars,
    wheels on the bus toy,
    and clothes

Grandma is getting them vtech baby vsmile and the vtech abc train station.

I think I paid $40.00 for all of it due to having gifts cards from hasbro for a toy recall and having bought everything on clearance months before christmas. Pays to xmas shop through the year cause you can get alot of gifts for a very min. price

WE got twins one santa toy, because Big Bros & sis would think Santa forget them. After that toy they are getting some sleepers and other clothes. Their stocking (big deal in our family) will be full of baby food and finger food snacks they have not tried yet.

I remember for my first DD, she got a car seat & diapers for Christmas.

I LOVE the stocking idea. I hadn't even thought about this. I did get them ornaments with their names engraved. You can record a little snippit on the ornament, too, so I thought that would be fun in a few years.

I did buy them the Radio Flyer plastic wagon this past Friday, but it is for their birthday (which is in March). It was an after Thanksgiving deal, so I just bought it now and we put it in the garage in the box.

For Christmas, I'm buying them a big toy box. The rest of the family is going nutso buying them toys, so I figured a nice toy box was the perfect gift for them. I also plan on getting them personalized Baby's First Christmas ornaments too.

They'll be more interested in the tissue and wrapping paper than anything else anyways. [IMG]

We aren't going crazy b/c since these are the first and only grandkids, their grandparents are going crazy buying everything in sight [IMG] I am buying them a few outfits and some other small things...their big gifts from us will be some little hot pink recliners we saw at Walmart. I thought this would be too "big" for them, but we let them sit in the recliners at walmart and had to pry them away [IMG] They are getting some "walk-behind and push" butterfly walkers, one baby grand piano, two little white rocking chairs, two little rocking catapillars, and a BUNCH of other little toys from their grands...not to mention what I don't know about [IMG] We just don't have room for tons of new toys right now, and since their birthday is Jan. 27th we are going to have more stuff then too...We are doing the red wagon with the two seats for it. And I think they might get a TJ Bearytales for Easter.

I wasn't going to buy the girls anything for Christmas because I know that they are going to get so much from everyone else, but I caved. I've only bought them a few items and I've made it even. I spent $100 so I split it up and spent $50 on each.

I think we have decided on the wagon for sure...And maybe a few developmental toys like yall said they already have alot of toys. My mom is going to buy their carseats for Christmas also. Stocking stuffers will be like Socks, Sippies, Paci's maybe some bows for Katie [IMG]

For the ones that named off the LONG list of stuff, I would LOVE to come to one of your yard sales when you get done with the toys [IMG] [IMG]
