My twins (b/g) just turned 13 mo. and it seems like they have their ups and downs with solids. Are you experiencing this with your twins too?? I'm sure it has a lot to do with new teeth coming in. If they refuse solids then I end up giving them a jar of food. Are you still feeding your twins jar food??? I feel like I give them the same stuff everyday. I need some more ideas as far as snacks and meals go. Can you mama's tell me what you feed your twins throughout the day. I REALLY need to add some more stuff to the menu.

    Thanks!

My two have been eating solids since 9 months so they're pros at it. What is usually in rotation for them:

    pasta
    beans
    peas
    carrots
    pancakes
    toast
    eggs
    lunchmeat
    hotdogs
    sandwiches
    teddy grahams
    cheese
potatoey stuff - home fries, boiled potatoes, french fries
    raisins
    dried cranberries
    canned fruit
    canned veggies
    waffles
    quesadillas
    chicken nuggets

Pretty much anything we eat, they eat. In fact, even with spices and stuff, they get the same exact food I do. I just give them one carbohydrate, one protein and one vegetable/fruit at each meal. They get two-three bottles of milk and free water throughout the day.

oh and pizza too. (edited to add pizza)

    Cody's favs were:

    Cottage cheese
    pudding
    elbow macaroni
    toast with cream cheese
    hot dog
    mini pancakes
packaged fruit - real fruit was to hard for him to bite
    poptarts

He would take bites of everything we were eating & now he will eat just about anything.

We do the same here. They eat what we're having. With Aidan I discovered how very handy a pizza cutter is to cut up food - waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, noodles, chicken nuggets, steak... Quick and easy. Mine also really enjoy grapes cut into quarters (while seated and supervised with hawklike intensity).

Thank you! I always feel like they get the same things in rotation.

My girls will also have nutrigrain bar, rice cake, yogurt, goldfish as a snack. I just found them some sweet potato french fries that they love as well as tater tots. I checked out wholesometoddlerfood for some ideas and the tofu nuggets are a big hit here (I dont eat chicken so it works for all 3 of us) and my girls really like meatballs.

I do still give them baby food occassionally, especially pears for pooping, plus I use the sweet potatoes for their pancakes, I add quinoa to the squash, the earth's best soups (almost no sodium compared to regular premade soup), and I add the peaches to their cottage cheese and their peaches&cream oatmeal. And they are always good to have in the diaper bag if we are going out.

They get milk at every meal and snack except for breakfast, I give them water, and they have sippies with water in the playroom with them. They get the boobie first thing in am and last thing before bed.

Here is what I did today for an example:

Breakfast - buttered waffles and strawberries
Lunch - refried bean and cheese quesadilla on whole wheat tortilla, banana, and mango
Snack - cheese, crackers, and green apple
Dinner - grilled cheese sandwich, roasted sweet potato, and kiwi

Mine refuse to eat off a spoon anymore, so everything gets cut up into bite size pieces so they can do it themselves. (mine are 14 months). We go heavy on butter and cheese b/c mine need to gain weight.

Thanks for the website. They eat most of the foods listed above. My dds also like yogurt as a snack everyday and we are starting crackers and goldfish.

Hi dmarie (I am also a "dmarie" with 13 month old b/g twins) HA! What a coincendence!

Anyway here is most of my list: (the rest is whatever I make for dinner even if they have tried it and not eaten it before. I learned (with my two personally) that if I keep offering it to them one day they just start eating it and liking it. )

    leftovers
Waffles with yogurt (when old enough to eat sandwiches you can take two waffles, plain yogurt and freshly sliced fruit to make a waffle sandwich)
    Vanilla Wafers
    Rice cakes
    Crackers
    Eggs
Toast with cream cheese and jam
    Fresh fruits
    Cheese
Homemade breads or muffins (banana muffins are the easiest to make with those brown bananas you are about to throw away)
    Goldfish
Cold Cereal (kix, cheerios and yes we still do puffs)-My kids prefer this breakfast with fruit over any other thing for breakfast
    Pancakes
    Lunchmeat
    Rice
    Veggies
    Pasta
    Meatballs
Bread (my DS cannot get enough of all types of bread)
    Yogurt
Homemade pizza with green peppers and onions
My kids love sloppy joes and I have a wonderful recipe where you sneak veggies in it and my kids can't eat enough of it
Homemade mac n' cheese with beans (again another sneaky recipe where you can't even taste the beans)
    Grilled Cheese
    Chicken
    Quesidillas without too much spice

    HTH

    Christy,
That is the best idea I've heard in a LONG time... I don't have one now, but I will get a pizza cutter TODAY!!!

Thanks for that wonderful tip :D
