I was just sitting in my living room looking at all the Stuff I have received for the girls, and wondering how much of it I will actually use. It looks like BRU exploded in my house!! I know I have my favorite things that I use EVERYDAY pretty much ALL DAY, and my girls are only 1 month old (adjusted).
    1. Boppy Newborn Lounger (My Girls LOVE these!)
    2. Pacifiers
    3. Swings

I would love to see the MUST HAVES for when my girls progress farther into their first year...

Boppy pillows! We've used them practically every day since the girls came home and the girls are almost 11months old now... of course now they are used mostly as toys to climb and bounce on!

The turtle music toy we have in the cribs (baby einstein makes it I think). We use it every day for nap and bed. They love that thing!

Double snap-n-go. So sad that I will have to give it up soon because it gave me the freedom to do so many things this last year.

    Three things.....

a binky (This was a great soother for the kids)
a blanket (toss a blanket on the floor and sit with the baby made for happy mom and baby)
music on (moods can change with different music on - loved that one!)

Up until recently exersaucers, crib lights shows and our playmat!

Now we have given up the playmat and we love having booster chairs at the dining room table so the kids can sit with us during mealtime. WE also love our fisher price crawl n' cruise playard. (My DS just loves this) my other must have right now is our foam flooring.

For me - the "pen" (two supergates connected with a foam tile floor). I'd be in the funny farm without this.
Pacifiers with strings attaching them to the babies.
My white noise machine that is ALWAYS going in their room.
Oh - and my combi twin stroller. (small, light, sturdy, works!)

    1. boppy (it's the only way I can feed both at once and they love to sit in it and chill.
    2. play mat (that Baby Einstein star is gold)
    3. white noise machine (we have a tiny house and without it we couldn't turn on the t.v. without the babies waking up!!

-- supergates? what are they and where can i get them?! (and how do they stand up on their own or are they easily over pushable with kids holding on to them for support etc)

We still use the Stroller (Number One on my list)

Gosh I miss those Johnny Jumper Days - but the boys are too big now - but it will always be number 2 because it was a lifesaver

    Exersaucer - No. 3

I left out the swings and bouncies because they didn't like the swing and the bouncies just didn't work long enough - not like broken - but the boys just didn't like them long enough. They hated the PNP. The top two would be the only things I couldn't do without. I did like swaddling them, but I could do that with a regular blanket.

boppies-STILL use EVERY SINGLE DAY since they were 1month
    bouncy chair
    podee bottles

    as they got older:
    exersaucer
fisher price aquarium crib toy thing (once they started actually sleeping in their cribs this helped a lot)

Whoops it's called a superyard: Here it is
    http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266978

When both girls push on it together, it gives and they like how it sways back and forth (ours is set up in a square which is not the most strudy shape). But they could never get out of it - and they each weigh almost 30 lbs and are big! I don't see how they could get out of it for quite awhile, really. (at least a year or more still)

I did see this one which would probably be even better and "give" less.

This one also has a gate which I would LOVE to have on mine.

    HTH!

OMG Krystyn. I am so happy to hear that someone else loves the Newborn boppy lounger as much as me!! I could NOT have lived without those. I passed them on to my girlfriend who had twins a year later and she felt like she could not have lived without them either. Every baby shower I go to, I purchase it for them whether it's on their registry or not.

Anyway, other than that my other 2 must haves were swings and highchairs.

If the question asked for top 5 that would have been in there. My girls loved that star for months and months and never seemed to get sick of it. In fact, I never really seemed to get sick of hearing it either.

It really depends on the age...

    As newborns:
1 - pilates ball (for soothing)
    2 - bouncy seats
    3 - miracle blankets
Honorable mention to the Baby Einstein star. I had no idea what that thing was called until xavier2001 mentioned it, but it was the first thing Sarah ever smiled at! I can still hear the music in my head sometimes.

    As older infants:
    1 - superyard
    2 - bouncy seats (still)
    3 - jog stroller

ETA (because it's impossible to pick just 3): Someone else mentioned the PNP with changing table, and I second that. We had another changing table that we never even used. And Amy still naps there (in the PNP, not on the changing table).

The only things we got that we really didn't use (that I can remember) were crib mobiles. This may have been because my kids didn't sleep in their cribs until 4 months, though.

I also LOVED LOVED LOVED the bopy newborn loungers -- could NOT have lived without them for the first 3 monts of their lives. (and still used them occastionally)

Wubanubs (those soothie paci's attached to little animals -- helps the boys keep their pacis in at night

Miracle Blanket -- still a miracle for us!

-- Honorable mention -- swings were a life saver for about a month -- but have lost their luster, and I agree -- that baby enstine star is great (it's my baramiter for nap times -- if they get fussy with it...off to the crib we go!!)

    As newborns:
    pnp
    twin nursing pillow
    bouncy seats/swings

    Between 3-6 months:
    twin nursing pillow
    activity mat
    bebe pod

    Older babies:
    high chairs
blankie (woobie...whatever you call it...security item...they won't sleep without it)
fp aquarium crib doo-da (plays music, sounds, lights up, etc

Always a must...the tandem stroller and the SBS stroller. It's hard to just say three items though...right now a favorite toy is the choo choo train thing with the balls that pop out the back or come up the top and roll back down...they love that thing.

My 3 things that were most important the first year were:

    1) Podee Hands-Free Baby Bottles
    2) Graco Duoglider
    3) Superyard

Honestly, I could have gotten rid of everything else as long as I still had those. I wouldn't have been as happy ;) but I would have survived.

In the early days it was

    2) Nuk paci's
    3) Gripe water

    Now..
    1) one Nuk Paci
    2) walkers
    3) their push toys
