    Hi!

I'm peaking into the first year board for some help with my singlton (my twins are 21 months old)... I hope that's okay!

The first few months with our twins are a complete blur to me now. I know what we did for our bedtime routine and it worked great and they are fabulous sleepers... but I just can't remember when I started it. Oliver is almost 8 weeks and I'm trying to remember when a good time to start would be. His nighttime sleep is becoming more organized... he definitely has his longest stretches at night, though they are still only 3-4 hours. I remember originally we were putting N & G down at 9ish and then realized that was way too late (per advice from some TS'ers). When we backed up the whole thing to 5pm, it worked great. DH thinks 8 weeks is still too early for any routine, but I'm anxious to get this kiddo to some sort of routine (since that's when some of my sanity returned the last time around [IMG]

    Thanks!

We started a set bedtime routine around 2 1/2 or 3 months. I think we were putting them down around 8 or 8:30 at that age, so starting the bedtime routine around 7:30 or 8. I know for sure by about 5 1/2 or 6 months they were sleeping 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  4. i started a bedtime routine at 2 months. around 6pm i would feed them their bottles and a little cereal and then wind them down for an hour. i put them to bed at 7pm. they usually sleep until 6 or 7 am. we are still trying to get them to sleep through the night. but at least they have some sort of routine

I've had a routine with this one (also a singleton) since birth. I'll "expand" the routine a little as he gets older, but I've stuck with the same time, going in our dark room and taking the "last" bottle, etc... The only way this has worked, however, is due to my dh taking on the bedtime routing of the twins (which has regressed somewhat - he's not as tough as me [IMG] )

good luck! I'm all about routine!

I started my routine with the boys when they were about one month old and have stuck to it ever since.

Our boys are 3 1/2 mos old and they have a routine, we started it at about 3 mos. I think they are/were ready then. I'd say with a singleton your ds is probably either ready or very close.
