I bought some podee bottles to help my mom out during the day but Mekaila can't use them cause her formula is to thick but Jacob could get it flowing but it was like he kept letting air get in the tube it wasn't a steady flow.....or is that normal?

I want to say it was around 3 months or so before my girls could acutally suck hard enough to keep anything in the tube. FWIW, we only used them a couple of times b/c they were just a pain. I usually just propped the bottle up.

Totally the same here. Bottle proppers worked much better for us.

We started using them at 4 weeks of age, but we only use them occasionally. I totally agree with the other posters, they must have a vacuum suck before the podee's are worthwhile. For now, the milk maid is a better option. Once they're older and more advanced in their sucking capabilities, you'll find the podees are so useful. At least I did with my DS, it was the only bottle he would use once he was 9m old.

We started using it at 6 weeks with no problems. Not sure if by air you mean that as he sucks you can see air at the top, as the milk goes back and forth? I think that's just from them pushing in and creating a little vacuum before the milk squirts into the nipple. If that's what you mean then yes, I think it's normal and doesn't actually lead to swallowing air.
Good luck! My girls preferred the Podee to any other bottle. They like to drink sitting up. We have several sets so I don't have to wash between every meal.

If the milk just looks like it's coming in and out of the tube at the nipple, then that is normal. He isn't getting any air. It's just the nipple refilling itself after every suck.

If the milk is going all the way down the tube and back into the bottle, then he is biting on the nipple and letting air in. If this is the first time with the Podee, he's probably just experimenting with the new feel and concept.

That's what I was going to say too. We only used the Podee's if both babies were screaming at the same time. My girls didn't really like to use the Podee's, but they liked the Podee better than having to wait.

yeah I just see the milk going back and forth.....not all the way to the bottom.....but I'll keep experimenting and see if I can get them to like it
