Oh yeah! The play kitchen, also a good first b-day present. We got ours for Christmas when they were 16 months old, and they started playing with it right away and still love it. I would say first b-day is good. It's a great thing to encourage them to stand and cruise, if they aren't already.

We got them for 3nd birthday gifts, but they got one at daycare around 18-20 months or so and LOVED it then!

We got ours at about 20 months and they have played with it every day since. They are definitely changing how they play with it, though. Originally, they would open and close the doors, stuff things in the microwave, press the buttons, etc. Now, though, they cook things on the stove and feed me and DH. They even make food and feed their babies. So I would think that from the time they can walk that it is an appropriate toy... and one that will stay interested in for a long time.

I think any time age 1 and beyond is fine. If they don't catch on at first, they will still play with the accessories and grow into it. Where my DD goes to preschool there is a kitchen set in the 1 year old Mom's Day Out room. I don't have one, but I could really imagine my babies would do well with it at this age.

We got ours around 18 months which seemed perfect for us.

We got ours at 21 mos., but the kids don't play with it a whole lot. If I move it around in the house though, they seem to "rediscover" it (right now it is in our hallway; two days ago it was in the family room). They especially like when I drag it into the kitchen so that we can cook dinner "together."

I'm sure mine would have a grand old time playing with it right now, but we plan on getting it for them for Christmas (they'll be 21 months).

We bought the boys their kitchen for their 3rd birthday and it's been a HUGE hit!

Mine are 18 months and are just starting to play with it .... but to be honest, it's a pretty yucky one (I got it for free) and we keep it outside. If we had a nice one and it were in the house where they spend most of their time, they would probably have started playing with it more like 15 months.
