    [SIZE=10pt]Hi Everyone,

    Well, I've almost had it with bibs. The twins just pull them right off. I have 1 bib that has string and I can tie on them, that one bib is harder to get off. All of the other velcro bibs, they just pull right off. When did you stop using bibs?

    My boys went through this too! I used the string bibs for a couple of weeks and now I'm back to using any bib. They got over it!! LOL Hang in there. My kids are too messy to not use bibs.

    I don't use bibs because of that. I had found these great bibs for toddlers when my 10yo was younger, but I don't think they make them anymore because I don't see them at stores.

    It was a phase for us as well.

    We switched to pullover bibs (they look like bathroom hand towels with a crewneck). That completely solved it for about a week :p Then, they would pull the pullover bibs off and triumphantly toss them aside. I decided that they were doing this because it was a new and exciting ability and at least with the pullover bibs, they weren't scratching their necks up with the velcro. It took a few weeks but mostly they leave them on now. Sometimes they will take them off when they're full and other times they are stinkers and pull the bib off just to show their independence but mostly they wear them again.

    Me too. I love the pull over bibs. It kind of looks like a ducky that goes under a jacket. Those are my favorite. I used them right from the beginning because it also totally covers them so it catches more mess. I never understood those tiny bibs anyways. If they are going to make a mess - what are the chances it will go on the little bib?

    we pretty much stopped using them a few months ago, though lately the boys have been wanting them again. they are hanging in the kitchen near the table and sometimes one of the boys will ask for one, and of course, the other has to have one too!! B) we also got a couple of those really big ones that have arm holes, and they like those ok. they cover everything! i say just take a break for a while. worse case scenario they change their shirts or eat without one, right? :D

    I gave up using bibs because most of them werent long enough to cover their pants and have been using dish towels held on with a clothes pin. Once in awhile I have one that can get it off but not usually.

    Can you find some bibs with snaps instead of velcro? We had some of these, and the boys could not get them off.

    We never went through that phase luckily, but I can tell you that I fed my kids in nothing but diapers until they were probably about 18 months - unless we were not at home, of course ;) It was much easier just to wipe them all down with a washcloth that way!

    These are my favorite bibs. I LOVE these! The pouch catches dropped food (my boys will eat right out of the pouch :) ). They stay closed with a snap clasp, so they can't yank them off. Best of all, they are soft plastic so you only need one per toddler - rinse them off in the sink and you don't need to wash a million of them in the laundry.

    We haven't stopped fully but there have been phases when they rip them off. I just dealt with it. NOw I only make them wear them when they are eating pasta, yogurt, applesauce, etc...

    Spencer just recently started this as well. I'm sure it won't be long until Carter catches on. I have just been taking his shirt off and putting it back on after we're done eathing.

    I've given up on making them wear a bib unless it's something pretty messy that will stain. Most of the time I just take their shirts off! I have started using a safety pin through the velcro if I really want them to wear a bib.

    I would strongly suggest you not use a safety pin. I tried that and Trevor ripped the bib off anyway. The pin bent and came undone and I was lucky that he didn't hurt himself in the process.

    i am still using bibs. there was a time they were whipping them off and i went to tied bibs or the towel kind that go on over the head. when they remove the bib, then I remove them from the chair. it didn't take long for them to catch on that to eat, they had to have on a bib. if they were hungry enough, they would endure it. for a while, i also added a clothes pin on top of the velcro sort of as a double latch, which also helped.

    i like greymom's bibs. but haven't used them.
