What a little stinker...

So one of my boys is very active and has learned to roll over onto his tummy. But the thing is, is that everytime he rolls over onto his tummy he starts screaming like he's hurt or something. He will sit there and scream until you put him back on his back and no sooner that you do that that he's trying to roll onto his tummy and the scenerio repeats. He seemed to enjoy tummy time when we would put him that way but his new found independence has him all up in a dither or something. And of course, he's doing this during his naps and bedtime, making it so that he's no longer really STTN as it gets disrupted by him finding that he's on his tummy and starts screaming... last night I thought to myself "if I have to climb those stairs one more time I'm going to bring him down and put him in his swing" but I didn't; I just kept climbing. GRRR!

What is it with this? Is it just that it's a new milestone and it will pass or is there something else I should be looking for? I would check the owner's manual but I've seemed to have misplaced it ... LOL!

Oh.....I remember that stage! It too will pass. :) I had to roll my girls over so many times and they would just roll right back onto their tummies and then start screaming, they will figure it out soon! Hang in there. :)

Mine only roll the other way, but are tummy sleepers, so I feel your pain. Human spatula!

I've been trying to work with them on learning to roll from back to front during the day, but my feeling is that it's just something I'm going to have to wait for them to grow out of.

This will pass... One of mine did that (how sad that I can't remember which  ).. However I didn't roll them back unless it was bedtime or nap time. I think it lasted maybe a week. Good luck!

Yup, both of my boys went through it, too. Funny thing is they both knew how to roll back, but I think they just tired out or something. As soon as I flipped them back onto their back, they would roll back over and fuss. They did it at different times, fortunately. William did it for month 4, and Ronan did it for month 5. I asked their daycare teacher about it, she said it was a common phase and it takes just a few weeks to a couple of months for them to work past it.

Ohh, we went through this phase too! Eventually it will pass & he won't sleep any other way! Hang in there :)

Definitely a phase, and sometimes a frustrating one too.

My thoughts exactly! Im at the standing stage with DS and have been for the past 2 weeks, but DD is occasionally doing the tummy one but it´s rare.
