    I wanted to post yesterday but the exhaustion of staying up 'till 2 am frosting cupcakes was too much for me. T&J were thrilled to have CAKE and ICE CREAM and TOYS (which they've been reciting to me for 2 weeks) and a party. After being way too excited about this birthday myself, it was really fun to seem them enjoy it so much.

    So now we get to join you (again! - I've missed you all since the change in boards) and get freaked out about PTing!

    Welcome to 2-4 (you know, because Kevan & Karina are such old timers here, LOL). So glad your party was so much fun!

    Elizabeth, too funny about your frosting cupcakes at 2am, because that is totally my life, too. Even when I only had one kid. :D

    Happy birthday, Tom & Jack! :birthday: Cake and ice cream and toys, oh my! :lol: What are their favorites from the new haul so far?

    And I have a KILLER piece of advice about the freaking out about potty training thing: find sand. Insert head. Repeat as needed. If sand is unavailable, you may stick your fingers in your ears and shout "La la la, I can't hear a thing!" :lol:

    Oh, their favorite toys are changing as they get them - I believe in one or two gifts a day until they're gone, instead of one overwhelming heap - but the Bruder crane (random find from TJ Maxx) and the Little People garage (surprise last minute find at nursery school moving sale) are the toys that are keeping them inside all weekend. They REFUSE to leave them. We haven't set up the sandbox, yet - I'm hoping that will draw them back outdoors.

    And yes, Becca - the fact that I haven't set up the sandbox yet should confirm that 2am cupcake frosting was not a fluke :) I'm so glad kids take a few years to develop serious expectations about birthdays!

    Being on the second year board allowed me to do the "la la la" thing with PTing, Holly, and I will do my absolute best NOT TO OPEN any more threads about it for another three months. Yours is excellent advice!
