We're now in toddler beds

I picked up a like new toddler bed from a consignment shop yesterday. It's the Wggles plastic and metal framed bed. Not real girly at all, but Emily LOVES it. She loves to look at the picture on her bed. Last night was her first night and she did so super. I was really anticipating something bad with her, but she laid right down and went to sleep. We let them stay up til 9 last night so that it would be easier to put them down. They were tired enough where no one really argued. Maybe she just doesn't really realize that she can chase after us if she wants. Who knows. The only crying was from Amber because she was still in her crib and not happy about it. She wanted to sleep in the new bed. SO, I'm getting the lavendar colored Disney Princess bed for Amber today during my lunch hour. She'll be in her big girl bed tonight. We decided not to push potty training right now and switch to beds instead because the drop rail on their cribs was fastened in place at the bottom with zip ties and then Emily broke Amber's bed a couple nights ago because stupid me let her get into sissy's bed and bounce. The next thing I know, she snapped the outer wood board that the center slats set into. Snapped it in half, SO, more zip ties. Then the same night Emily was mad because she didn't want to go to sleep so she showed me that she can, with no effort, sling her long leg right over that crib rail and tried to make a move to follow through with that thought til I told her no she'd better not. We decided that since she could do it and she knew she could, she probably would at some point, and it would be our luck that she'd land wrong and break her leg. Dh wasn't too keen on the crib tents so, we decided to take the plunge to change to toddler beds. Hopefully, it will remain fairly incident free.

We switched at about the same time as you and have had great success. I hope that your girls adjust well. Mine have JUST figured out that they can get out of the bed by themselves, and even then they get up just when they wake up. It only took a couple months!!!

 

I'm glad to hear that things are going well. THe beds sound really cute! My girls will be around 2.5 when I transition them b/c the new baby will come just 3 months after that, so I want them to be used to sleeping in them for a little while before the new baby comes so we don't regress...lol!

I hope they both do well tonight in their NEW beds....how fun!

 

So glad that they are loving their new beds! I love the princess theme from Disney! My girls are using twin mattresses on the floor for the time being, but we have the pink princess comforter and the lavender tinkerbell one.

I hope they continue to love their new beds!
