We're going on vacation for 8 days . . .

We are leaving on Sunday for an 8 day trip to Hawaii with my husband's two brothers and their wives. I can't believe it is almost time to go . . . I have not really started packing and truly am not that interested in packing. Packing the right things always stresses me out. I feel so fortunate to be going; however, I know I will miss W&L dearly. I have left them previously for a weekend which I always look forward to, but 8 days . . . I'm going to be so sad. W&L will be in great hands . . . they'll be with my MIL for both weekends and with my mom for the weekdays. I have warned them to keep them on their schedules and to handle things the way we do at home. I feel confident that they both will do their best to do this. I am also worried that W&L will miss us . . . I want them to have a sense of peace while we are gone. W&L are very familiar with their grandmothers and they have a very loving relationship with them. Thanks for listening to me . . .

 

Of course you will miss them but just think about how well you will feel (mentally) when you get back!! My dh and I went on vacation last month, 5 days and while I missed my girls terribly, it was nice to get away with only my dh. We had a great time and really reconnected. Leaving them in trusted hands will definately make it much easier on you. I left mine with my mom, the kids adore her and she sticks to our routine very well so I had no issues with that at all. One thing that I did was a I called them everyday and talked to them over speaker phone. They really enjoyed that. GL! and enjoy your time away!!! It will be over before you know it!

 

Have a blast!!! It will be a wonderful time for you and your husband.

Your kids will have a ball with their grandmothers!

It will be a refreshing break for all of you and I think we all need that from time to time.

Oh, I'm jealous!!!!! You are going to have an amazing time ... and I'm sure it will be a blast for the kids too, getting spoiled rotten by their grandparents. Enjoy every second of it!!

 

How fun!! Dh and I haven't taken a trip together since the little ones were born and are planning something for the holidays. You will miss your little ones, but go and have a good time in Hawaii.

 

we did the same thing last September - only it was just us....it was wonderfully refreshing!

 

good luck! i'm sure everything will turn out fine, and it will all go much faster than you think! we will be leaving the babies for the first time next month (a weekend) in preparation for our 5-year-anniversary trip to walt disney world, when we'll be gone 8 days, too! i'll be sure to post on here for tips on how yours went!! bon voyage!!

As for packing, lay everything you want to take out on the bed, then scale it down from there. Enjoy and take tons of pictures!!
