Well, Thanks for the short time I was here.....

we went for my 1st ob appt. today, and for my 3rd u/s. Baby B did not make it. I could tell from when the u/s started that it wasn't going to be good news. Baby A was huge compaired to Baby B. The sac was to the side, and the tech look for a hb and did the blood flow and there was nothing. She didn't say anything, she just said she was finished and was going to go get the doctor. Joe blurted out, what's wrong with the 2nd baby? She said she couldn't find the hb and left the room.

I know that obviously it's God's way of telling us that something was wrong with the baby, and I am glad that he decided to take it now instead of it being born with all sorts of problems. And I am still happy that we still have one viable pregnancy, but damn...I just don't understand why me? OB actually told me he was shocked b/c after you see the hb there is only a 5-10% risk for m/c. Go figure, my luck! He said that baby b should be absorbed, and shouldn't cause any problems for baby a. He said that they looked to be di/di (faternal) so they came from 2 different eggs, and each should have their own/different genetic material, so what ever was wrong with Baby B does not mean that Baby A would have the same defect.


Well, for the good news, our baby is measuring right where it should. 10wks 4 days on the nose! Which is exactly how far along I am. HB was 164 and it was wiggling all around.


I know that I should be very very very thankful that we have one healthy baby, and I am. I am just disappointed at the what if's....I had gotten used to the thought of three kiddos, which I know means more financial strains, etc....Obviously there is a reason for this. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger....

I'm so sorry for your loss sweetie!! But in my opinion you are still a twin mommy, one is just an angel now! :hug: I can't imagine what you are going thru, but please don't forget that even tho you still have one baby, you did lose one, and you have every right to grieve that little miracle, no matter what anyone else says! :hug:
