My babies are here! They were born Monday, January 4th at 36 weeks 4 days. I had a doctor appt on Monday and I'd been having bad cramps all morning which is nothing new to me. I had cramps and contractions all the time but could never time them. Every time I would call the doctor, they would ask how far apart are they... I could never tell!

So as usual, on Monday I was having my regular aches and pains and cramps and showed up at my doctor appt. I asked them to check my cervix since it hadn't been checked since my pre-term labor episode at 30 weeks when I was 1 cm and 80% effaced.

So low and behold, the doctor checked my cervix and looked at me funny and asked if I was having contractions. I said I've been having bad cramps all morning. I was 3 cm, 90% effaced with bulging membranes and in labor!! So off to the hospital we went.

Now I did have an elective c-section after all, which I have to admit was a weird experience. My doctor appt was around 12:00 and my babies were born at 3:04!!

Claire Noel was 5 lbs 11 oz, 18 1/2 inches and Athan Michael was 4 lbs 15 oz, 19 inches. Both were born at 3:04. In the same minute!

Claire was grunting a little so they took her to the regular nursery for observation and she joined us a few hours later. Athan was with us in recovery. Neither needed any NICU time!!!!!

They are having the usual pre-term latching and sucking issues. Athan loves to nurse but Claire isn't that interested. We are working on it and pumping and supplementing with NeoSure.

We all came home yesterday and survived the first night. I can honestly say that although I do not want to ever carry twins again, I love my little peanuts and they were worth every ache and pain!

    I will post pics soon.

Oh how wonderful!!!!!!!! My son was a 36 weeker and had difficulty latching as well. Pumping is so exhausting, do take care of yourself. Congrats on wonderfully healthy babies!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!! I had some of the same issues with my babies... Ironically it was my dd who was a strong nurser initially, but after about 6 weeks of both nursing and bottle feeding she wanted nothing to do with the breast anymore. So it was my ds who became my nurser and my dd went to bottle!! I chose to simply view them as individuals and not get too upset over feelings of inequality. I tried my darndest to get that stubborn little princess to nurse, and she just wanted nothing to do with it. Sigh..she's still a stubborn, picky eater today! Seriously! At 4.5 she still reminds me of that stubborn little baby sometimes!

Congrats Mamma!!! That is wonderful, so glad to hear that they didn't need NICU time. I just looked at your pics and got all giddy in anticipation of meeting my peanuts on Monday (36w + 5 days). Take care of yourself and congrats again
