Well, I am... a little stunned...

We were so blessed with our twin girls, S&G, born back in February. We did have some assistance with getting pregnant (not IVF, just some good old drugs) and honestly weren't sure we could get pregnant on our own.

When the girls turned 6 months, we had a long talk about adding to our family. We decided we would A) not go back to the clinic, because we didn't want to risk twins again -- not that we don't love 'em to pieces, but it's been the hardest thing either of us ever did! and B) we would try on our own until I turned 40 - next July. If at that point we weren't pregnant, we'd call it a day.

Truth be told, I figured we had maybe a 20% chance of getting pregnant on our own.

Well, surprise surprise! We got a positive pregnancy test this weekend, not even 3 months later. Actually, we got 4 positives. (I was stunned / kind of obsessed). We are so happy about this, I really felt like there was a big question mark about whether or not our family was complete. I'm praying everything progresses with the pregnancy, it's still VERY early - I'm only 4 weeks.

Anyway, this will probably become my new favorite forum. I'm going to need lots of advice! I can't even picture taking 3 little ones out of the house... We have a lot to decide too - for instance, if we do daycare again with the new little squishy - assuming I still work, if we downsize the house, etc. But I'm willing to continue & add to the madness - I love my little gals so much and really hope all goes well and we meet the new guy/gal next July.

i am dying to know how you feel and how u r managing? i am wanting to get pregnant again and my girls are 7 months now. i am wondering if its too crazy but i want to!!!

 

Hi there - sorry - I've been off this site for a while... Just needed to take a break and let it all sink in. Plus was dealing with major morning sickness -- am on the Zofran now so can at least eat, only puking once a week instead of twice a day, which is making things better. I'm entering week 14 so I'm hoping to get some energy back too.

So that's it in summary, tired a lot, was very sick for a while, but hoping I turn the corner soon. It's already getting hard to take the stairs so hubby has been double-arming the kiddos, and we have lots of help lined up. Very lucky to have a lot of family nearby.
