My bro, SIL, and nieces (10 and 8) have been bugging us for MONTHS trying to get me to bring my girls over for a sleepover. I'm finally ready!! Tonight is the night and I'm frickin' frackin' excited for them. :yahoo: The girls are going NUTS over the idea and want to go over N.O.W.!! :woo: My bro and sil are amazing with my girls so I have no worries that they will be in excellent hands. :good: My girls will be split up and sleep in the same room with their favorite cousin. So, this will also be the first time - ever - that they have slept separate from each other.

Anthony and I are going out to the place where we first met to have dinner.

I think the hardest for me will be going to bed without checking on them one last time. (Yes, they are almost 3.5 and I still do that. ) I'm hoping for the best...but will keep the phone near me...just in case. ;)

 Enjoy Michelle! I'm sure your girls will have a blast. :woo:

We still check on the kids every night before going to bed and I have to admit, I still go look in Caroline's room before going to bed when I know she is at a sleepover. :pardon: So you are not alone in that.

It was AWESOME!!!! My SIL said it took them a while to calm down but they did just fine!! :yahoo: I called this morning and she said there is no rush to get them because they are having so much fun with their cousins and then they are planning a big breakfast.

Anthony and I had fun too, sort of a quiet night, but still a good one. Going to bed was hard. I got a little choked up and had a hard time falling asleep. I almost turned on the sound machine in their room (I can hear it from mine a little bit) just to hear the noise I have heard every night for years now.

 Michelle, I'm so glad to hear it went well!!!  Enjoy your time "off" this morning!

Now, how can I get mine to sleep at someone's house?

Just send 'em over!! I think it helps that we have slept at other people's houses at least a few times a year since they were babies. They adjust really well. Just try it, if it doesn't work, try again. One of these times it will!!

Wonderful update! I can't imagine sleeping in my house without them in the next room, and I certainly can't imagine a quiet house in the morning. So enjoy! That is great that your girlies did so well!!! I wish someone would offer to take my girls for a night, but so far my family isn't interested. Oh well.

I'm thinking that I'll send my kids there as well. It's only an hour away!!

Glad that it went well, Michelle!! :woo: I would like someone to take mine overnight, but no offers are forthcoming. Although Meggie does have a sleepover planned with her girl cousins during school vacation week. My 25 year old niece is taking a day and a half off and her sisters (19 and 15), Meggie (5), Caroline (9) and Hannah (8) will be having a little girls night. Doing nails, making sundaes, watching movies. Now, who will take my boys that night [IMG] ?

So glad to hear it went well! My girls also have older cousins (6 and 8) and their mom has suggested a sleepover multiple times. I've always said "When they're older," but I'm thinking we might just do it! I completely trust my SIL, I just worry that my kids will freak out at the last minute and we'll wind up picking them up at midnight.

I'm sure I would miss them -- but it would be soooo nice to wake up to a quiet house, and not have to get out of bed at 7:00 (that's as late as we can realistically expect Amy to stay away from us) just ONCE. That is the one aspect of my pre-kids life that I feel like I've never gotten back, and I still miss it.
