every once in a while i get a sharp, quick pain up and down thru my vagina. i was at the doc today and my cervix looked "great" but i forgot to ask about the pain. i'm 16.2 weeks.

any one else have anything like this?

I have this too. My OB has been keeping an eye on it (he thought it might be related to my previous c-section, but it seems to not be related as it's no where near the scar tissue). Yesterday my peri said it could be nerve twinges as the babies move and put pressure on different locations. Of course, now I don't notice it nearly as much since I have hit the point of "pelvic pressure" and braxton hicks. Then there are the kick festivals on my ribs.... so really, a twinge of sharp pain that goes away is so less an issue than the constant ache in other places.

Good luck... Twins are a LONG road it seems!

I got this too., right about the same time (16 wk and around that time). I talked to my doc about it. he told me that at this time there is a muscle right there that is stretching and even ripping to make room for the growing baby. i forget what he called it but there is a name to it. it HURTs but does eventually stop. i've had it with all three pregs now. this is what it was for me, check with your doc for you.

I think that the pain that pp is talking about is called round ligament pain. I started getting it around 16 weeks and still get these twings of pain, esp when going from a laying down or sitting position to a standing.
It could be that but it sounds like its also the babies hitting you there as well. My babies do that too.

If it feels like someone stabbed you with a pencil or a sharp object real quick, Definitely. I got them there for several weeks almost every time I walked for more than 30 seconds. My OB called them 'lightening pains' and said they were ligament pains that were felt earlier in twin pregnancies. Perfectly normal. Now, if they didn't go away for minutes or when you shift position that would warrant a call to your OB, but based on your description, I think it is exactly what I experienced.

I got them a few other places - but got them in the same place you have them most of the time.

I had that pain from the beginning. It was nothing to worry about for me. Best thing to do is call your doc. They'd rather you ask questions then have serious ailments and not mention it till the next appointment.
