Weird, numb skin near incision?

    Has anyone experienced this?

I had a c-section about 4 weeks ago, and while the incision has healed beautifully (virtually no pain or anything), the skin directly above it feels SO weird. It's very dry and feels almost numb yet a little painful/kind of like when you have a burn and it's healing. Is this normal? Is the skin just traumatized from the surgery, or could there be nerve damage?

I had my c-section 10+ months ago and my incision area is like that. The discomfort/pain part is gone now, but the numbness is still there. Those feelings have been there at all sites I have had surgeries in the past (both wrists and twice on my knee). I think it's normal. The numbness gradually disappears, but not completely. I still have numb spots on my knee and the last surgery I had there was 10 years ago.

Yup, still numb here, and I get itchy sometimes too. I put Neosporin with Pain Relief on it and it makes it feel better.

I have it too! And also around my scar from my emergency appendectomy 2 years ago. It's the worst when it itches and it feels like you just can't scratch it because of the numbness.

i wish i had read this a month ago before i drove myself cray wondering if they had cut something they shouldn't have. mine is numb in areas,. then sensitive in areas. the muscles around there get sore too,. prolly from trying to hold up the roll of twin skin that flops down over it. ;0!!

I had my c-section over a year ago and still have numbness in that area. Post-op the numbness started above my belly button and now starts below it, so it is slowly receeding. It does feel really weird to scratch it when that area get itchy!

I had a c-section with dd almost 3 years ago, and it definitely took over a year for the scar to stop feeling numb... I think some nerve damage must be unavoidable when they're cutting you open, then the sensation comes back once the nerves have grown back.

Mine feels like that too. I asked the OB about it, he said that nerves are cut and since nerves don't regenerate, it'll feel numb.
