    Hi,
I know its a little early for me to be concern about weight loss but I was wondering if anyone had some good tips on how to lose the extra weight from twin pregnancy. My single pregnancies I did have any problem and my hips went back down by 6 weeks. I'm know its going to take a longer but was looking for some tips and suggestions on how to assist it along. Do the hips go back to normal too?

I have recently lost about 15 lbs without doing anything gimmicky.

I went online and calculated how many calories I need to eat in a day to maintain my weight. I don't remember which website I used, but you can google "calorie calculator" or something like that and find one. Once I had the number to maintain, I subtracted 500 from that, and that's how many calories I need to eat in a day in order to lose weight. For me the number is 1650.

I also joined the YMCA and work out 4 days a week. They have daycare, so I can go in the morning and take the girls with me. I've been doing this for about 6 weeks, and like I said before, I've lost 15 lbs. My goal is 25 lbs.

    Good luck :)

There's a Weight Loss Forum here at TS, that might help when it comes to be time to lose weight. I'm on an 1100-1200 calorie a day diet myself and as long as I strictly follow it I've been losing weight like crazy. The real key to weight loss is eating less calories than you need. You can be on any diet on the planet, but if you eat more calories than you need in a day, you'll gain weight. I do suggest talking to your doctor before you start any weight loss program if you have more than 20lbs to lose (and a dietitian too, they are so handy!)

I walk 5 days a week for 30 minutes and follow Weight Watchers. I was 205 lbs when I got pregnant, 265 lbs when I gave birth (2 months early) and now 11 months later I am 149 lbs.

I second Weight Watchers! I've lost 25 lbs after my first dd & so far have lost 16 since starting this time after the twins (that's after I weighed 217 before delivery, & then lost 35 lbs without doing anything...was really swollen).

Honestly, BF'ing did not work for me. I started normal weight, gained 42 pounds while PG, lost 20 by 3 weeks post partum, then gained 10 while BF'ing (through 6 months). Once I weaned I did the South Beach Diet and lost 15 pounds. Then starting early this year I joined a TEAM Weight Loss program at my gym that got my butt back exercising regularly, along with a healthy meal plan at 1500 calories a day.

I lost 16 pounds with that, and I'm looking to lose 5-10 more to get under my pre-preg weight. It really took exercise and diet for me (maybe because 15 weeks of bedrest messed with my metabolism).

Breastfeeding did it for me. I gained 50lbs with the twins. I lost 40 by the 2 week check-up. By 2 months I lost the rest plus 5-10lbs more. I ate a ton, too.
