I am almost 16 weeks pregnant with twins and I haven't gained any weight, actually I am 2 pounds lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight. I have been eating healthier and was 40lb overweight when I got pregnant. I am definitely showing. I look like I did when I was 5 or 6 months pregnant with my daughter (now 17 mo.). According to my doc. I measure right where I need to (that was a 14.5). I only gained 12lbs with her. My tummy and breasts iare growing at an incredible rate, but my rear end, waist, and face seem smaller/thinner. Has anyone experienced this? I am eating regularly...can't imagine missing a meal at this time. At my last sonogram at 12.5 weeks, the babies were developing normally and were right on track with there size. I have another sono next week. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    welcome...

if the babies are doing good and the doc is not concerned, i would not worry!
i also get concerned at times with my weight gain but the babies take what they need and everyones bodies are different. i gained more weight with my son but he weighed a pound less than my daughter (they were both term babies) so even the pregnancies are different.

    relax and enjoy...

At 22 weeks I had only gained about 10 lbs. I lost in my first trimester. Now, I don't know how much I weigh, but I will at my next appt. I am gaining at the "double" rate from my 1st pregnancy. At 22 weeks I had gained 5 lbs. So don't worry, you'll gain at the rate your body needs to gain. The Dr. will tell you if he's concerned and maybe the "cushion" you had prior to getting pregnant is sustaining your babies needs for weight right now! :)

I started out at my "ideal weight" according to doctors and at 17 weeks I was 3 pounds lighter than my starting weight. I had no m/s or food adversions, I ate all the time and whatever I could get my hands on healthy adn not so healthy. Now at 19 weeks 4 days I am 6 pounds over my starting weight. So I think you just hit a point and you start gaining from there. Everyone is different. I have no idea what was going on with me because I look 6 to 7 months pregnant and haven't lost weight anywhere else. Also the babies are measuring right on with their estimated due date... My doctor has never said anything about my weight so I don't think it's anything to worry about if they aren't worried.

With my son I gained 48 pounds and had gained 20 by 20 weeks so this is a different experience for me.

I didn't gain anything in the first trimester. In the second tri, I started putting on weight. My doctor & nurse said in the beginning that as long as the belly gets bigger & the babies grow, that's all that matters.
