What does your OB think about your weight gain? Were you at a normal weight to begin with?

I would recommend talking with your doctor. Especially if the nurses are weighing you, he probably doesn't even look at it. my doctor said that since the babies are growing and so is my belly i shouldn't worry about it. I have gained 11 pounds and will be starting my 7th month on monday. Are you going to be seven full months then?

I am overweight. However I didn't gain any weight with my pregnancy until my 8th month. Initially my doctor only suggested gaining 20 pounds overall. I had morning sickness the entire time. First trimester I was down 30 pounds, 2nd trimester I was still down 5 pounds, month 7 I broke the plateau of my starting weight, then weeks 30-34 I gained 10 pounds of babyweight and in week 35, I gained 20 pounds(thank you pre-eclampsia!)

If you're eating healthier and are overweight to begin with, only gaining 8 pounds is faboo! However, if you're normal weight and have lots of morning sickness, definitely talk to your OB.

When I found out it was twins I read a book that I can't remember the name of that mentioned even if babies are premmie's the more fat the better. Whether that was true or not it made sense to me.

So I started eating good fats like:
    avocado
    salmon
liver (blah - but good for you)
flax seed oil and olive oil in cooking

I just surrounded myself w/good fats. My body is paying for it now but I justify it by saying I sacrificed my body for my kids. :D

Dr Barbara Luke´s book on Multiples is very good and gives a guide as to how much you should aim to gain. I´ve gained almost 50lbs with this pregnancy but I was light to begin with so it was necessary. It all depends on your pre-pg weight. Here´s the link to the book if you´re interested: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Youre-Expecting-Tw...s/dp/0060542683

The great thing about having twins is you can eat anything and not feel guilty. I loved shakes with things like ensure, icecream, fresh or frozen fruit. I was easily able to eat a banana, plus other fruit and milk in one easy sitting. Mc Donalds egg mc muffins are a quick pick-up. I tried to eat red meat for the iron, like shepherd's pie, or meat loaf. I did alot of scrambled eggs with left-over potatoes, veggies, etc. I tried not to stress out too much but still thought of them all day and tried to make sure I ate as much as I could and healthy. Oh cheesecake !!!!! Homogenized milk !!!!!!

My girls born at 36 weeks due to blood pressure issues were 6 lbs 3 oz, and 4 lbs 10 oz I also read the book what to expect when you are expecting twins, triplets and quads....
