I know it varies with your body type and pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm just curious how much you gain with a twin pregnancy. Some have actually said dbl what you do with a single....
I was at my ideal weight of 145#s pre-pregnancy (5'9'', small/medium build). With the previous 4 single pregnancies i gained a total of about 50#s each time, although my starting weights varied (and were less than this time). At 23 weeks, I had gained 13#s. I expect this to pick up, but will I dbl that 50# weight gain?!?
I've teased my dh that he can't lose anymore weight cause I don't want to pass him, but hitting that 200# mark and beyond is a little incomprehensible for me  I am not gonna stress about it, but try to gain as much as these little girls need, BUT STILL curious......

I gained 39 pounds with DS and so far, I am at 54 pounds with this twin pregnancy. I have gained AT LEAST one pound per week since I got pregnant, and then this last OB appointment was the FIRST time in 37 weeks that I didn't gain ANY weight! I am short, 5'2" and hate being this big, but I lost all the weight last time and hopefully I can do it again this time! I think the main goal is to front load as much of the weight gain as possible, but I wouldn't worry too much. I think your body will gain what it wants to.

I´m 5´6" and was 117 lbs before getting pg. I gained 55 lbs in total and am now back to my pre-pg weight. I gave birth at 37w3d and was HUGE!

I had m/s and was pretty bad at the beginning but I ate anyway! In the end I was so big that I couldn´t eat much!

I am 16 weeks and so far am just now back to pretty much my pre-pregnancy weight after having lost almost ten pounds in the first trimester due to being VERY nausea and sick with "morning" sickness...more like all day and all night long!

I was a good ten pounds over my ideal weight though (and am back to that now) so I'm not too worried, and my OB tells me that my body will know how much to gain and when to gain it and that the usual "recommendations" in pregnancy and especially multiples books are VERY VERY high and that I shouldn't be aiming to gain nearly that much. He said if I gain 20-25 I'll be doing well :) I'm about 175 now at just over 5'9 and I have a pretty wide frame.

I am 5'3" and 130 before I was pregnant. I lost 5 lbs in the first month and at 29 weeks I'm up to 160. I haven't gained anything in the last two weeks, but my belly is still getting bigger. I'm measuring 42 weeks right now. I have no idea how these babies are going to gain another 4-5 lbs before delivery!!! I feel huge already.

My belly is ginormous but I have only gained about 11 pounds. I actually lost ten in the first trimester (which was mostly from IVF drugs anyway) and now I'm back to the weight I was before I lost. I'm afraid of what the final months are going to bring. I'm terrified that I will get HUGE but then again my appetite is tapering off again so who knows. My OB who always thought I was a bit of a porker and constantly complained that I needed to lose weight has not had any comments about my weight during this pregnancy at all. He doesnt seem too concerned about it. He says that the babies will get what they need from me whether I eat loads or not.

Hmm.... I know everyone is different, but if you've gained 13 pounds at 23 weeks, I have a hard time imagining that you would put on more than 80 pounds in the next four to five months and see the scale move past 200!

I am 5'5" and 110 lbs. pre-pregnancy, and with all my might I have gained 30 pounds by 29 weeks with these twins (I gained only 24 pounds with my singleton, but made it only to 37 weeks).

I'm 5'10'', and as of today, I am 29 weeks (almost 30) and I have gained 18 lbs. I lost 10 in the first trimester, but I am counting from where I was when I got pregnant.

No clue! Stopped looking after week 20. I lost 40 lbs before getting pregnant... it was sad to see the scale go back up so quickly...so I simply stopped looking. But I feel encouraged after stopping by the Baby Center Boards... women who just had their babies say they are losing 40-50 lbs of the weight they packed on during the pregnancy in a matter of weeks. So I might be tempted to look at the scale at my 2 week checkup. :)

I am 5'9", and almost into my 36th week. According to yesterday's doctor appointment, I have gained a total of 30 lbs. It feels like I have lost weight in my butt and legs, and it is now ALL in my belly. My c-section is scheduled 07-17-09, so I can't imagine I would gain that much more weight in the next two weeks.

Well, I am 5'8, and was a tad overweight to begin with. I have gained a total of 40 lbs. which is the same amount I gained with my single daughter! Hopefully won't gain too much more as I don't have too much longer to go!

5'4 and about 130lbs pre-preg. Now I am about 171, so that is about 40lbs up at 28 weeks! That is what I gained with my singleton preg. But I actually look thinner in the face & arms than I did last time around so it is a mystery. I am not going to worry, I was happy to be up 30lbs around 24 weeks, from this point on, whatever I gain is likely going to be fluid retention b/c I do not have the appeitite I did during the 1st & 2nd tri

My pre-pregnancy weight was 123 (I'm 5'6") and I've gained 25 pounds so far and have been holding steady there for the past 3 weeks or so. I am all belly - people have told me they're surprised to find me pregnant when I turn around because I don't look pregnant. I tell them not to worry - I FEEL VERY pregnant.

My DW is 5'7" and weighed 117 pre-prego. She gained 19 lbs by her 16 week mark, but only 1 lb from her 16 week to her 20 week mark.

She looks WAY bigger from week 16 to week 20, but it is only a 1 lb dif.

Well, my supportive dh tells me I carry very well  and although I look EXTREMELY huge (well, my whole front does, but especially the belly) without my clothes [or in certain clothes], it is pretty well in check when I am clothed. I did tend to gain the majority of my weight with my single pregnancies during that last trimester, so we'll see.....I am just concerned about not getting enough nutrients and my immune system going down, etc. That happened AFTER my last birth--I caught every little bug (and strep) among other things. Of course, this was partly due to exhaustion and a friend having to come see the new baby when her kids were hacking and coughing [strep that went misdiagnosed for the kids for 2 weeks, then me and my hubby got it too!!] I want to be as fit as possible and sometimes I just feel like I can't eat enough! Not enough time in the day <_< .......
Thank you all for sharing your weight gain stories!!!! Nice to know how much variance there is!!

Yes...and trust me...he is being honest with that.

I told her that the other day. Of course she did not believe me. She REALLY doesn't look over 5 months prego with twins.

Besides...even with her weight gain, I always remind her, that it's not like it is because she "is eating like a horse", it's for a VERY good reason...then she smiles...

i'm 5'8", pre preggo weight was 143lbs and i'm not 32 weeks and change and up over 45lbs. i imagine my total weight gain will be somewhere around 60lbs if i make it to term, but it's easy to pack on the pounds when you are on bedrest and only eat cupcakes all day......lol

I'm 5'11" and was 145 lbs at the start of this pregnancy. I'm 38 weeks now and up 45 lbs. Last sono estimated weights at 7lb8oz and 7lb3oz, so we'll see how big these babies end up being. I think a lot of the weight gain is in my legs, which have been swelling a lot.
